i learned something today
To say it simply audio compression is the PostFX of audio
bottom line is developers made sounds certian levels to make it somewhat even across the field as to what volume ppl would play at this overrides this and makes it so you can crank it right up without the loud noises therefore gaining a massive advantage over someone who just installed tarkov and played the game as intended i hope they make an example out of this. they obviously support discord and their official website as both have official servers with dedicated bsg staff

Great arguments. Great video. Unfortunately the software solutions are not available to me apart from sound lock which I dislike because it kicks in so late and you get these weird sound spikes. Voiceemeter would be great but I understand your concerns why you’re not doing it 🙂

Bsg hasn’t explicitly said discord or nvidia is ok but they use it openly so it’s the same as them endorsing is to a point, therefore bsg allowed, same thing could be used against them if they were using some website or app that isn’t good for reputation, they don’t use any game altering settings from other partys so that’s the cheating part, if you have to download something else that’s not accessible from in game settings, therefore not even for everyone and easier
if it didnt give you such a big advantage i dont think youd even bother putting up this much of a defence for it. it would just be ahh what ever. maybe its not cheating but its something alot of players dont know and will never learn in game with out looking at videos like this, that makes it distateful and borderline. they should ban compression in eSports most people dont relise the massive advantage you get from it so its not an issue now, maybe one day it will be. either way, its a bit dissapointing looking behind the curtain with most streamers and relising that they are as good as they are because they use every 'advantage' they can, not because they are actually a really rare talent at the game, but either way. thanks for the video i appreciate you and all the hard work you put in to this, this is not ment as a dig at you. im off to go get one tapped by a player that heard me long before i could possibly hear him.

The problem is you give yourself a advantage, a player not using it would have to risk damaging his hearing to hear steps as loud as you… unfair advantage nomater the nr of arguements u give.
Just remove the gun sounds at all.. keep just environment and walking/running.. why make players life difficult.
This is how every cheater argues… If it was ok what you do, you wouldn't justify for 20min!

Thanks for putting this out there. I installed sound lock and ran a few raids and it was a huge difference . Not bleeding from the ears after left mouse clicks was nice!

At the end of the day it's a grey area. Can it give an advantage vs someone without? yes. Does the community consider it cheating? Yes/ no. We could use the same arguments for different color filters because the game strains your eyes. just an example: You made it so it practically highlights players on your screen. is it cheating? Well it's up to your personal opinion because it's undetected. The community will him and haw at it but at the end of the day does something give you an advantage a player just playing the game could not have? if yes then well, you're going to have to accept the fact that you are cheating. it may be light and I honestly don't care either way, this isn't near the level of straight up esps or aimbots, but don't fucking lie to yourself if you're going to go outside of a games intended design and excuse it. That's what ppl who use the real cheats do. I would just say this is what i use, i like it and it's accepted and move on. The second you stand on a hill and try to defend it you get shitty rants like mine.
Only in tarkov are players doing all these tactics just to play the game.
