Prosecutor Creighton Waters wrapped up his closing arguments by slamming Alex Murdaugh for the lies and thefts investigators believe led to him allegedly murdering his wife and son in June 2021. “Everyone’s lying on the master liar,” Waters said explaining the state’s witnesses’ testimonies don’t match up with the disgraced lawyer’s story. “Shame is an extraordinary provocation,” Waters said detailing why he believes Alex killed Maggie and Paul. “His ego couldn’t stand that and he became a family annihilator.”

Dreadful closing. Boring, rambling and didn't once provide concrete evidence that the defendant killed the victims.
Waters is a low level attorney recurring to insults in the lack of evidence.

One of the best closing arguments i've ever seen. Touché Mr. Waters and the rest of the prosecution team. Amazing work! In the beginning of this trial i was sure Mr. Murdaugh is innocent, but you guys did a great job in cutting through the maze of his lies. AM is a master of deception. But not master enough for you. Guilty beyond reasonable doubt! I hope the jury will agree. (BTW: Great idea to play his first lie to the officer as final evidence. This came unexpected, but nailed it perfectly! AM = Lies, lies, lies!) May the lord forgive him. What a sad story. Regards from Germany!

13:00 Another thing to think about: if this were a revenge killing against Paul, and let's say Maggie, too, for protecting Paul, how did the killer(s) KNOW in advance they would be THERE at THAT time? They weren't even going to be there that night but for Alex's insistence that they come. The killer knew they were going to be there if that killer is Alex.

I have never seen closing arguments in a real case like this before. Are long pauses and shuffling through the papers a strategic device to make the jurors think about the arguments more carefully?

A Master Liar No. A pathological Liar yes…… I am so shocked the Jury came to a conclusion so fast. There is NO other person that was around to do it. I feel so bad and heartbroken for the families and everyone this monster touched. This Dosen' t happen very often that people of clout are brought to justice so this is a nice change.
