The Dex cut was because that including almost a thousand pokemon was just not feasible anymore, they have talked about this. And now we have over a thousand it's even less feasible, ultimately it had to be done. That's all there is to it really.
While imo Scarlet and Violet are the most fun i’ve had playing a Pokémon game initially (this coming from someone who currently HATES modern Pokémon…) i do agree that in certain area’s the game is VERY lacking and for me that mainly has to do with a lack of post-game once everything’s said and done, the CRIMINALLY small pool of Pokémon in Paldea and really just the lack of depth in exploration…like there are no secrets to find aside from like…the legendary’s…? The game very can much be described as “ocean wide and puddle deep”…it really just lacks the detail that would’ve truely made this game a masterpiece
Sorry can you explain Pokémon home gts because you keep saying that you have to pay for when no, that not true you pay for depositing three Pokémon in the gts you have the ability to use the GTS to trade and for requesting sorry if I come across as a Fanboy, I’m just not really into inaccurate information being spread outside of that I generally agree the dex cut is definitely a way to sell back old pokemon
I genuinely liked the story and characters of sv, I'd say its my favorite recent Pokemon but it was definitely rushed and I hate that adding the dlc makes this a 90 dollar game that's so extremely unpolished and buggy. I've definitely been leaning more towards indie monster taming games as of late which has been much easier to do with all the coverage you do on this channel.
I personally don't care about "dexit"; there's over 1000 Pokemon now, I don't expect to see every single one return for every game. But locking pokemon behind was is essentially a paywall is garbage.
I wonder how dexit people would react to monster rancher, where there's 20 different base monsters and a good chunk of them will only show up for one game and disappear forever. 😛
Eh, minus the turtle thing and bird, I think those Pokemon are really ugly. I enjoyed the heck out of the S/V story but I beat the game once and haven't picked it up since. Tera dens were never interesting to me since I only used tera types that matched my Pokemon's natural type. I bought the game SPECIALLY for that Charizard event and then didn't even do it. Unless the story is amazing like the main story, I'm not interested in the DLC.
I am really tired of the two versions, especially with them releasing at full price and the games have little to no difference. If the games had more differences between them outside pokemon (like different areas, different directions the story goes, different places to start, possibly different teams, ect.) then more leeway could be given, but it's not like that. I think it'd also save them some work if they just stuck to one version. Presently, it's ridiculously expensive to own 2 pokemon games, especially factoring in dlc. I wish they'd stick to the one version but I don't have hopes.
Scarlet I am having fun with, but I do wish the world had more. Like, part of the fun of BotW was the discovery, and through visuals they set up a lot of history and lore in this Hyrule and a lot for players to discover. But not so here. I also wish there was level scaling, cause their implied set route has you doing a lot of back and forth and like, man, I want to travel around in a circle but if I want that ideal challenge, I have to do that back and forth and check to make sure I'll be at the right levels to be challenged. I am enjoying it, but Scarlet isn't what I'd want it to be.
Also this dlc is not grabbing me enough that I actually want to buy it, so I'll be waiting for reviews.
I would pronounce it "Te-Rapa-gos" similiar how you would pronounce galapagos islands (but with a Te in front).
It just looks like that pronounciation would fit also these are the Islands on which Darwin observed Animals for his thesis of evolution and one of the animals the islands are known for are large terestrial tortoises (admitedly terapagos migth be a turtle).
My take could be totally wrong but it sounds good to me.
I really think that you arw over criticizing the game, it was an incomplite game with many bugs, but to sag thag nothing was memorable and the charcters was boring is not an objective opinion, I think that the the game was really great on design of everything world, charectars, pokemon, and still have great things with all the downsides, but it is still better than most monster taking games, yes a lot of them try to fix the things people think is bad with pokemon, but they are far behind, and I'm sure if any of those games will survive for years, and I hope theg will, they will cut out monsters, they will have to compromise on some aspects, becouse when you have such a big frenchise it's hard to make new game the way anyone want, but pokemon can definitely make better games
I agree with you. Everyone defend Scarlet and Violet and attack me when I say this but the games are bland, empty, and the new storylines are the same dialogue and things over and over, really boring. After some hours the games feel like a chore and the only saving grace is the area zero ending and that is it honestly. The games are missing something indeed, they are rather lifeless, souless really.
Eh… I heavily disagree with the characters being unmemorable. I loved Scarlet's story and characters, and I think they're probably the best we've had since Gen 5 (Maybe Gen 7? Uncertain, its been a long time).
As for the DLC, I'm remaining cautiously optimistic and waiting to see gameplay footage before I make a decision on it.
That being said, I really don't have an issue with them putting more mons in the DLC. I mean, it makes sense. New location, probably different mons, right? Idk, it just wouldn't make sense to have every one of them in Paldea specifically. I mean, it never even worked that way with the actual Nat Dex. 😛
so area zero was a complete let down and pointless waste in the end sad honestly should have saved area zero as a free dlc for summer and gave you dlc pokemon
reason i say this when you go down there they talk about how SPECIAL the place is it's generic the exact same pokemon in the bloody game walking about! had you encountered some previous gen mons and stuff it would of been cool
oh well it is what it is i just think area zero should have been something expanded on much more
Im more intrested in first part to be fair since i really love yokais folk storys and all and the its just the same theird legendery of said generation is responsable for X mechanic we have seen it with necrosma in sun and moon with ethernatus in swsh and now terapagos in sv
pokemon games need to change. until then I think I'm done with these. I got a refund when this one came out and I'm glad I did.
Honestly if there's too many pokemon to put them all in the games anymore then they should stop making new pokemon 🙃
I mean, I know that won't happen as long as they keep making new games since that's where they get most of their "hype" from, but imo 95% of the new pokemon in gen 8 and 9 look like trash, including most of these new legendaries or w/e
Weird because even though I think gen 6 and 7 were heavily flawed I still thought most of the new designs were solid…now it feels like they can't even get that right anymore
But that's just a matter of opinion I suppose
Anyway though, won't be buying the DLC since I didn't buy the game to start with
And I totally agree with you on the two version thing, wish they'd stop that
I'm here just waiting for episode 5…
Go check out valzerk monster collector feels like monster hunter
Evening
Looks like you got your Yokai Watch wish.I’m not wild about the doge and the monkey, tho the other Pokémon look very interesting.
And well…the free version of Pokémon Home enables you to transfer Pokémon from SWSH to SV for example completely free of charge. Could they increase the limit? Yes, but it’s not like there’s no options not to pay.
As for my feelings on the DLC, I probably wouldn’t be aphrenrsive about it as much if it wasn’t for the launch state of the game. The bugs, the glitches, the optimization, that kind of thing.
If you buy both of the dlc’s, you’re basically being charged for a whole new game and it doesn’t have full game content. And I totally agree with you that they should stop making the two games separate, especially if they pump them out broken.
