I could watch Hellsing ultimate ova because it was so well made visually (albeit having some really terrible and boring monologues, especially by the "Fuhrer") but this one is just complete trash no thanks. same for Attack on Titan, it's at least partially well made but the content is disgusting, nonsensical crap. no saving grace without the action scenes. prefer me some GitS or EVA any time
A comedian called Patrice O’Neil once talked about how his girl would start a story with an interesting topic but then would bore him with a side story that goes on for too long that adds almost nothing to the main point of the story. If you want to make a story about war in an era then just do that. Don’t introduce it with a much more interesting situation that makes everything else feel like an over-welcomed stepping stone of the main subject.
I understand this is anime, but as a historian this just makes me cringe, in the map scene at the beginning it has the borders of German around 1917 where they were entrenched in France but having flying machines definitely isint trench warfare so the borders would look definitely different
