  2. This still pisses me off, I get we were only going after 1 man, but just because he’s now dead doesn’t mean the group he founded isn’t still a threat, why let them takeover again? We could’ve nuked or bombed that entire country into oblivion, making the land the new Grand Canyon, why let them win?

  3. He was buried at sea not because no one would take his body but because they didn’t want his burial place on land to be a focal place for religious martyrs to gather at and perpetuate his religious zeal.

  4. I heard a segment on NPR about the 228 Massacre in 1946. It was after Japan ceded control of Taiwan to China and the radio station used by the Japanese was then used by the Taiwanese to speak against the Chinese Communist Party.

  7. Operation Neptune Spear was a covert mission carried out by the United States government's intelligence and military agencies to locate and capture or kill Osama bin Laden, the founder of the terrorist group al-Qaeda.

    The operation began in August 2010 when the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) located a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where bin Laden was believed to be hiding. The compound was a large, heavily fortified structure with high walls and security measures that made it a likely target for a high-value target like bin Laden.

    Over the next several months, the CIA monitored the compound and gathered intelligence on its residents, including bin Laden and his family members. The operation was given the code name "Operation Neptune Spear" and was planned in secret with a very small group of people in the U.S. government.

    On May 2, 2011, a team of 24 members of the U.S. Navy's elite SEAL Team Six (also known as DEVGRU) carried out the operation. They arrived at the compound in two stealth Black Hawk helicopters and stormed the building, killing several of bin Laden's associates and ultimately killing bin Laden himself.

    The operation was a major success for the U.S. government and was seen as a significant blow to al-Qaeda and the wider terrorist network. It was also a significant moment in the United States' ongoing War on Terror, which had begun in the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda.

  11. One part of the story is missing. The legend that is Gary Brooks Faulkner. A construction worker who decided to quit his job to hunt down and kill Osama Bin Laden all by himself.
    To summarise how insane his story was, his character in the movie based on the events was played by Nicolas Cage.

  15. YEAH- I kinda doubt that Bin Laden was actually behind 9/11. There's a LOT of people who have amassed considerable evidence that the incident was a false flag and an inside job perpetrated by our own gov to push legislation like the Patriot Act, and justify mass surveillance, and even the "Real ID", complete with enforced biometrics…

    Which poses a grave personal safety/security problem at best, and serious ethics and human rights violations at worst.

    Bin Laden was just a plausible scapegoat. None of us were actually on those planes. And none of us knows what REALLY occurred behind the scenes.

    These are some of the most compelling reasons for government in general (both state and federal) to be greatly minimized and decisively reduced.

  17. I wonder, what do you think would've happened if Bin Laden HAD been taken alive? Would they just kill him anyway like how people on Death Row are or would he be be sent to that Florence Supermax prison that's housed people like Tim McVeigh and the Unabomber?

    You got one fact COMPLETELY wrong!!!

    The piece of s*** was tossed overboard or politely said "Burial at sea" WASN'T cause no country would take his body!!!!

    They tossed him at sea so there would be NO LAND BASED GRAVE FOR PEOPLE TO VISIT!!!

    Remember unfortunately not everyone in the world hated him… He had lots of followers who would have used his grave as a shrine
