The thing I love about Mr. Ballen's storytelling is that you are not even consciously aware you are being told a story. It's like you are actually there and it is happening to you. That is a rare quality.
I carry a 454 Casull on all camping trips. We each have our own comfort levels.
I like maybe camping but only with a group of close friends or family. It's a lot safer than by yourself

Quaking with abject terror he could take it no longer, he tore the zipper open, leapt out of his tent and bellowed: WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME??!!! Then a quiet voice proclaimed "You dropped this, sir" …as the man in white held out his hand, upon which was the highly expensive compass Matt had dropped 1600 miles ago.

Before TV we used to listen to the radio every night round 7pm for a story. Was wonderful. Last night I listened to Mr Ballens story for first time without looking at the screen. Was great. Thank you. 🫣😮🤗👍

I don't mean to insult the dude who starved to death in Alaska, but how on earth does someone who clearly had a competent level of intelligence impulsively go to live in the Alaskan wilderness without having the necessary survival skill, tools, firearms or archery gear to hunt and protect themselves, and then proceed to starve to death ? Alaska is full of animals, there are tons of deer, rabbits, squirrels, bison, caribou, elk, wild sheep, muskox, moose, plus fish like trout and salmon. There is no reason to starve if you're adequately prepared and know how to use a gun or bow, SMH.

Dude that was me and my girlfriend. We were wearing white because we are painters. We were just trying to let him know about his cars extended warranty
Can‘t get the guy. He was tracked down twice and when he finally arrives at a town he goes on hiking alone. I mean hiking alone for whatever 100s of miles alone in the wilderness isn’t that thoughtful. What if you get ill, or break your leg in the middle of nowhere?!
