Konstantin Kisin and the Counter-Woke Revolution | EP 333

Dr Jordan B Peterson and Konstantin Kisin discuss western privilege, the self, the nature of God and religion, the necessity of religion for morality, and how we must combat the death of truth with cohesive principles.

Konstantin Kisin is a Russian-British satirist, social commentator, and co-host of the TRIGGERnometry Youtube show. He is also the author of “An Immigrant’s Love Letter to the West,” a Sunday Times Bestseller. He has written for several publications including Quillette, The Spectator, The Daily Telegraph, and Standpoint on issues relating to tech censorship, woke culture, comedy, and other topics, but currently publishes articles on his popular Substack. Kisin made headlines in 2018 when he refused to sign a “safe space contract” to perform comedy at a British college and again in 2023 when he participated in an Oxford Union debate on the motion of “This House Believes Woke Culture Has Gone Too Far”. His speech at the debate received viral attention and has been seen by over 100 million people around the world.

  1. Jordan is one of the people I credit with saving my life. If you're reading this and you're in that bad place.. i know how you feel. You must make amends and forgive or at least accept. You must love yourself and others. You must stop doing things that not only don't help you but take you down and others around you.

  2. The problem with religion is everyone has turned theirs into an armband for their own glory instead of the glory of whatever they believe. As they become more involved in this dynamic they feed into the cult element almost all religions have thanks to man's flawed nature. If you aren't praying and reading on your own, you're not doing it right. The most important thing is that you understand the meaning of life is love.

  4. Dr.Peterson, I’m a 77 y / o woman who is an immigrant and had childhood trauma as a 5 y/sI thank you for your help in examining my life by writing my history. I was shocked and surprised at the grief that was released. This has resulted in a release of anxiety, a happier more productive person. Many thanks. I have sons and agree with you that present society attacks young males. Please continue to stand up to the abusers in the world.

  5. I found this man difficult to watch. He has this defensive posture that resembles arrogance, even if not intended. It never ceases to amaze me how atheists have this “I’m smarter than you because you’re stupid enough to believe in an Imaginary God-friend” – I know they don’t ALL do this, but it’s common. Makes me wonder if it comes from experiences where they felt judged by Christians and developed some kind of defensive mechanism

  6. Anyone who refers to God as the guy in the sky is unlikely to have really engaged seriously in contemplation about the proposition. JP is relentless and articulate. KK appears closed and annoyed, not open, at least in the moment.

  8. Peterson hates the poor. His entire appearance is the very manifestation of the bougie class. He concerns himself with the non-issues of the day. Meanwhile homelessness is on the rise. More Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. His entire channel is irrelevant to the working poor.

  9. Kisin, and Jordan for that matter. It doesn't matter if you or anyone else "thinks".. we need a "middle man to talk to the bearded man in the sky," or not. The Creator Yahweh, planned and says, the only option of the middle man (Mediator), is His Son Jesus Christ. If you deny or reject Christ, you reject the Creator.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2. . . .
Additionally, we don't make up our own truth or identity. Jesus Christ and the Word [logos], has, and is the established absolute truth. . 1:14:30

  10. Interview Dale B. Martin, for information on daimons. He wrote the book 'inventing superstition,' which shows the comparison of Greek religious sensibility to the new Christian sensibility. Also interview Lady Gaga. Ask her about her high IQ

  11. Jordan – Allah – not as interpreted by anyone but as described by Allah in his revelation – Quran – " Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge, He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent. "

  12. "TO THE unbelieving materialist, man is simply an evolutionary accident. His hopes of survival are strung on a figment of mortal imagination; his fears, loves, longings, and beliefs are but the reaction of the incidental juxtaposition of certain lifeless atoms of matter. No display of energy nor expression of trust can carry him beyond the grave. The devotional labors and inspirational genius of the best of men are doomed to be extinguished by death, the long and lonely night of eternal oblivion and soul extinction. Nameless despair is man’s only reward for living and toiling under the temporal sun of mortal existence. Each day of life slowly and surely tightens the grasp of a pitiless doom which a hostile and relentless universe of matter has decreed shall be the crowning insult to everything in human desire which is beautiful, noble, lofty, and good.

But such is not man’s end and eternal destiny; such a vision is but the cry of despair uttered by some wandering soul who has become lost in spiritual darkness, and who bravely struggles on in the face of the mechanistic sophistries of a material philosophy, blinded by the confusion and distortion of a complex learning. And all this doom of darkness and all this destiny of despair are forever dispelled by one brave stretch of faith on the part of the most humble and unlearned of God’s children on earth." 13. It is not, "a bearded man in the sky." Feels like trying to make a straw man argument rather than "that which is outside of time, space, and this dimension, with the power to create, love, and observe."

  14. I appreciate Jordan’s humility to God( the highest being) because when people get a certain amount of knowledge and social status, they really become very proud and assume an air of superiority before others. The professors, for example.

  15. 2 degrees is nothing. From 1150 to 1350 climate was 5 to 6 degrees warmer on average according to Greenland ice-core measurements -the gold standard. Result: record crops, the fastest increase in human lifespan and a very rapid increase in population. People die of cold, seldom of heat. If we want to reduce the population as our leaders want, then warming is not good. However, the CO2 impact on the greenhouse effect is logarithmic. In IPCC documents (a part they do not publicize), it is clear that the major impact of CO2 ended at pre-industrial CO2 levels. 10X CO2 now would be difficult to measure as it would be so minimal. We knew this from studies in 1913 as well. Pollution is an issue, and CO2 is a manipulation/distraction. Historically, higher CO2 is associated with more and larger plantlife=more food.

  17. Weird how on the hallow ad they talked about the imitation of Christ being the second most read book in history. Yet the second most read book next to the bible is the pilgrims progress. First time I have ever heard of the imitation of Christ but I've read the pilgrims progress.

  18. To Peterson – if you accept that we have a relationship with God, and in a true relationship one listens to the other and wills the good of the other, why is it preposterous that God listened to Moses? To Kisin, and in kind debate, you accept that by your intelligent design, intuition or otherwise, you govern your own life – your own god to your own existence, and for that matter all people are their own gods, and so with that, do you believe that all people by intelligent design are the First Cause of their own existence?

  19. If one neighbour abuses a tool he borrowed and another abuses your child, will the response vary? Same thing with the 'woke'. The more they destroy, the greater the backlash unless we throw all of human history out the window)… and the problem doesn't lie with the proportionate response but with the proportion of the provocation.

  20. If I could talk to Kisin I'd ask about his premise that "something (religion) can be useful but not true"
To me that means a fundamental disconnect between the good and the true, and comes straight out of Kant and Descartes bifurcation between matter and spirit. Which is wrong. Technically, philosophically and obviously wrong. Kisin himself acts as if matter and spirit are unified. He would never say for example that a child's suffering is "merely the interaction of brain chemicals and has no intrinsic meaning"

  21. What was initially an interesting conversation ended up devolving into JP proselytizing the "Judeo-Christian" world view while constantly dodging direct responses with longwinded theological principles. As ex-atheist, I can empathize with KK's frustration.

  23. Drag queen story hours is a simple problem if you assume that sexuality should not be introduced to children below a certain age (puberty). And that at that age there should be a solid course about what it is to be young males and females and to grow up. Something writen by psychologists who know all about it.
