I gotta call B.S. here. True, this was an accident, but Dr's were not trying to save his life because it was evident after the first 12 hrs he wasn't gonna make it. He was kept alive in order to study massive amounts of radiation on the human body. They restarted his heart no less than 5-6 times. After a few days, when removing the sheets from his bed his skin went with it! He begged for death until he could no longer speak. There are pix of this poor guy in his hospital bed, tubes & machines everywhere & him lying there…with no skin!! Its TERRIBLE!! (You've been warned about the pix). This guy was able to communicate with eye movement & feel everything up until 5 days before he lapsed into a coma & died. His family was told he died 3 days later & didn't know…..
Inaccurate. He wanted to survive for most of the 83 days. He was angry with the medical staff after a week because he wanted to go home but he didn’t want to die for most of that time. The medical staff involved should be lauded. They asked his family to visit him daily to be familiar with his daily deterioration to be able to accept his loss. The staff were very compassionate.
i feel like throwing up so bad i would give up 83 days of pain in the hospital and 60 sieverts of radiation to make sure i never feel like throwing up again
I understand that this family was grieving and didn’t want to let their loved one go but putting him through all that pain and suffering to keep him around was selfish. People that are dying should be left alone if they want to die and not be forced to have a dragged out death.

He was kept alive ONLY because of the requests of his incredibly desperate family. There was NO malice from the doctors whatsoever. He also NEVER asked to die, he only demanded that he be allowed to go home.
In fact, the doctors made SURE the family could see him every day for the first several days so they could see how bad his condition was and be able to accept there was no saving him.
This video was not only full of inaccuracies but also paints the doctors and medical staff as monsters. Sensationalized to get clicks and shares I assume.

I work as a cardio tech in the hospital. I see many times where family deny their loved ones dnr & dni. When the odds are that bad, it’s best to place your loved one on comfort care..let your loved when leave as comfortably as they can.
Family was paid to keep him alive…info graphics use to be better…now I watch their shows and it's obvious they are getting paid to lie about history.

I’m sorry for the family, but no matter how much you love someone, I don’t understand how one can live with themselves giving commands to doctors to hold someone suffering alive for so long. We didn’t even dare put our cat through a day more of suffering when we found out he was in immense pain Bc of FIP and in extremely bad shape. They watched him suffer from the pain, they watched his skin melt off, they watched him beg to die from the pain and they still refused to let him go. In my opinion, that is not love. Maybe foolish hope or stubbornness, but in no way shape or form love. If you see someone you live in that much pain and begging to die, it should hurt you. The only thing to do would be to let them go and to relieve them from their pain. I hope the family lives with the guilt of making him suffer for so long, because that is cruel.
As a healthcare worker, I see families do this stuff all the time. I wanted to save people; turns out, I just legally torture mindless bodies.
Sad story but this is not the most radioactive man in history there have been others who received greater doses. But they weren’t forced to linger on like this either.
