Je suis un citoyen de la ville de Toulouse dans le sud ouest de la France. Ici la police aime faire retentir ses sirènes à tous propos, juste pour impressionner la population. J'ai moi-même fait appel à la police dans des situations difficiles, c'est un service public dont nous avons tous besoin, mais ce service prend parfois le visage d'un abus dirigé contre la liberté. Sans possibilité de critique contre ce service public nous sommes pris au piège.

This was what trurned out to be the prototype for dragnet tv show, including "this is the city" intro, which jack webb, here the forensics guy, would take over in the 50s and later the great 60s show. J edgar hoover lent authentic assistance to all these projects, plus the similarly stylized 1959 "the fbi story." I love this stuff.
