Daphne had a rough delivery but was doing a great job taking care of her triplets. However, she for some reason started attacking the littlest doeling. Today we try to figure out why and help the situation.

This channel is all about our adventures creating and living on our 1-acre farm right in the middle of the city of Phoenix, Arizona! We have a small plot of land, but boy, do we make the most of it. We start each day with milking our adorable herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats and gathering eggs from the flock of chickens. We use the fresh goat’s milk to make cheese, butter, cream, and we use it in all sorts of baking & cooking.

We love that we can walk into our backyard and gather food from the goats, chickens, fruit trees, or garden. It’s the best feeling ever! Each animal on our farm is taken care of ethically. We let the mama goats raise their babies until they reach 10 weeks of age and are naturally weaned from nursing. We focus on breeding for strong genetics but we still have our fun pets like the queen of the herd, Luna, our Nubian goat or Willow, the first baby we kept on the farm.

Watch for regular episodes of our daily life here as we try our best to live sustainably on our little farm in the city.

  1. I was gasping when Daphne was rejecting, head butting, and biting one of her own. Yikes!
….. But I'm so glad the situation is fixed.
Your little runt of the pack is so, so ADORABLE!!!
    He's melting my heart!!! 🤗👍❤️

  2. When Newt is weaned he should go into a therapy animal program. Where my mom lives there is a lady who takes a little dwarf and pygmy goat to nursing homes and children's hospitals. They are entirely housebroken and just the friendliest. They each have a large-sized dog bed in the house and come in every night when it's time for bed.

  3. Hey it could have been the vitamin supplements that helped too. Daph may be low and her body is telling her she can’t raise 3. Not sure if you are giving her the extra supplements for a little while but may be something no no to consider 😊

  4. So baby goats are born with the color of eyes they are going to have for life? Sending so many congratulations to you and your urban goat farm babies! I am loving this kidding season (other than the losses and rejections. Those make me sad but I also understand it is what it is when raising livestock.) You guys are the bestest ever goat breeders/family! 🥰❤ ( I hope you all get some much needed sleep soon!)

  5. Okay I'm not okay when the mom goat is being mean to her child and if you have not name then them then I have a few names in mind so if the brown and white one is a boy then it name should be Rudolph and the 1 black and white then if it's a female then it should be Clarice but if it's a boy then Donner the 2nd black and white one that looks like a cow if it's a girl name should be Cow or Oreo if it's a boy then Bull or Buckley

  6. I went from being so mad at Daphne to 100% understanding once you pointed out the likely reason she was lashing out. She had such a painful traumatic birth, it's totally understandable that her wires got crossed. I hope she heals quickly and feels better soon!

  7. It happened to my goat too.. Mama didn't want to breastfeeding one of her kids, just because he's got different color from his two siblings… I think It's the same happens to Daphne, only one got brown color… Maybe..

  8. I've seen this happen before he picks the two strongest ones that she wants to take care of them kill that you guys take the 3rd or 4th one she may not have enough milk for all of so it looks like you may end up with a bottle feeder keep your chin up and you all have good day there the farm
