She has had an accomplished career, working with NASA, the US Government, and numerous academic institutions in the field of climate change. Curry advocates for a non-alarmist approach, acknowledging Earth’s rising temperature with a grain of salt—in-field research, and a refusal to shut the doors of science to those with opposing views and findings. In 2017 Dr. Curry retired from her position at the Georgia Institute of Technology, citing “the poisonous nature of the scientific discussion around man-made climate change” as a key factor. Curry co-founded and acts as president of the Climate Forecast Applications Network (CFAN), which seeks to translate cutting-edge weather and climate research into tenable forecast products.

The hockey stick graph is being worked on and refined constantly by other researchers. It can no longer be viewed as just one individuals work. It has moved on from its earliest form, such research is unlikely to remain undeveloped, so why critique something as if it had remained undeveloped? Would you call an adult immature because they had once been a child?
Also, check out the story and the science of 'climate gate', because as I recall, due to the uproar at the time an independent U.S. led evaluation was conducted which found the science good, there was no fraud.
It's a complex story, more about a quiet man's social skills than about fraud. As I said, the numbers were independently crunched, there was no fraud, just the forlorn hope that climate change wasn't a problem.
(For the sake of clarity I'm going to revisit that story, I thought it was done and dusted years ago. Vague notions are not a good support for any opinion.)

This was excellent and so honest. They are saying things that many of us have been concerned about for some time. There are opportunities if the climate warms to provide more food and cause 'streams to flow in the desert'. Alternative 'renewable' energy forms are only helping the richer countires, but while we invest away from carbon fuels, we are ignoring opportunities to feed the starving nations. The glaciers and pole ice masses have melted before, and it was not a disaster then, so why now? The sun is never mentioned by IPCC and mainstream climate scientists. Time for honesty and improving our stormwater and forest management.

Climate science can be of great benefit to policy, business and community if the focus continues to shift towards resilience.
Her argument holds no water, she has no certainty or authority of knowledge to say that the predictions are wrong, it's her own personal denial that she is airing out, we physically can see the change in global weather and habitat and even in the Bible, Matthew 24 predicts global warming and mass extinction of humans.
Obviously she is giving her clients information that they want to hear and she is getting paid for it, they will soon find out that they did not get there money's worth.
How will you know that her judgment of scenarios are correct.
CO2 emissions may indeed remain fairly level over the next few decades, consequently atmospheric concentrations will continue to rise, as deep ocean sequestration is falling atmospheric CO2 will rise more steeply. Yes, no model perfectly reflects reality for all of the reasons covered here but I think it fair to note that No model discounts rising CO2 as being irrelevant to increasing temperature.
Dr Curry is so spot on. Bravo! Not including data about the sun related to changes in our climate (which always does and always will whether we are here or not), is complete negligence on the part of IPCC. I believe that the sun controls a HUGE percentage of the variability in our temps, clouds, weather, radio comms, etc. due to the massive solar irradiance and radiation influence it has. Check out info about solar cycles and how they have behaved over the centuries and it is very clear to me the IPCC is just putting their head in the sand to tow the party line and maintain the (FUD) narrative.

I love how YouTube blasts it politically correct but scientifically wrong definition of climate change. Why would one swallow the absurd notion that human activity is the predominant driver of climate change ? Are they unaware of the now well established impact of Milankovitch cycles ?
Interestingly, a fact that is hardly ever raised is that the earth is near starvation levels of C02. Earth is much closer to the collapse of the photosynthesis processes due to the lack of CO2 than too much CO2. Currently, the earth is at 416 PPM (parts per million.) All photosynthesis stops at 150 PPM when we know that during the Cambrian era, life thrived a 7000 PPM.
Dr Judith Curry has always been an impressive scientist. It is not only her profound knowledge of climate science but the elegance and serenity with which she communicates. Bravo Judith Curry.
Objectively a better model for this would be a dialectic, ie involving authorities on both sides of the climate debate. Whatever the merits of this content, it is flawed by the absence of real-time debate.
