I respect Jimmy G a lot, and I’m not even a 49ers fans. He got shaft hard, and yet still stepped in when needed, never lost the locker room, and is still there for his team even injured.
If 49ers don’t do good next year without him, and they have no QB plan if Purdy is out, shannahan will lose the locker room.
So the niners have 4 QB's go down in 2022/23. Has anyone considered that with all of Shanahan's wizardry he has overlooked protection for his QB's?
I think Jimmy a decent QB that had to throw 8 passes to get to a SB. So let me ask this. Would you keep a high earning employee that does his job but constantly calls in or gets injured causing him to miss work for months and it kills your payroll?
The one re tread QB that is actually good and the colts didn't even make that move. Derek Carr is up next watch……

Jimmy G is solid if unremarkable and he hardly ever plays. If he wasn’t so injury prone then maybe they would keep him, he gets it done with those pieces around him, but the fact is he could have potentially ruined their season this year with yet another injury.
Since joining, going off full seasons being with the 49ers, out of 82 possible games, he’s played in 50. I’m sorry, he’s mr glass.
He wins at an 80% rate right, well that’s 40 wins.
So as a franchise QB, Jimmy G gives you 40 wins out of a possible 82. That’s crap. That’s less than half. His winning percentage means nothing when he misses meaningful game time, you can’t build around a player who simply isn’t there.
Jimmy was too soft for the patriots. Definitely does not fit in with the grit of the niners. Should stick to commercials

Kyle and Mike Shanahan literally ruined RGIII’s career. Kyle was the OC in the SB when the Patriots came back from the 28-3 debacle. Unanswered winning points from a mediocre Patriots team from 2016. I don’t see what the genius of Kyle Shanahan is based upon?
