The information is wrong, spitbank Fort is a cavery and a hotel and has been before 2002. The owners will let you rent the room out but it's expensive. I know this because I live in Portsmouth uk, I was born here. The journey to the boat who sails out to Spitbank Fort is around 20 minutes away from where I live. And it was king Henry the 8th who had the forts along Southsea sea front built to stop the French and Spanish invading Portsmouth.
