Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order On The Cusp of Perfection
How do you remember Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order? I remember it being one of the better titles to release in 2019 but I wouldn’t blame you for forgetting about it, as 2019 gave us some insane releases. Pokemon Sword and Shield, Metro Exodus, Sekiro, DMC 5, and releases like Outer Wilds and Catherine Full Body occupy my top ten of all time. That didn’t stop many from enjoying the game however, as Jedi Fallen Order received some excellent reviews. I loved the game for being a self contained Star Wars experience, requiring minimal external knowledge of the world or events to understand the story. Vibrant worlds, an intriguing story, and visceral combat lead to me remembering the game fondly. With the announcement of this game’s sequel, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, I’ve had an itch to replay Jedi Fallen Order, and spoiler alert, I am glad I did. I can also finally keep my word about covering this game, as I promised it would be the next video almost 3 years ago now. Better late than never. While there were some hiccups in the performance and combat, the game overall is a fun ride from beginning to end. So, without further adieu let’s take a look back at what I would consider to be the best modern Star Wars video game, 3 years later. I’ll be spoiling most of the game here too so be warned.
Something important to note about Fallen Order is that it is, mostly, self contained. This remedies any issues with lore, as the game has no greater impact on the Star Wars universe, but it also makes the game accessible. I have to admit, I like Star Wars, and I have seen all the movies, and played all the games, but only once or twice. I wouldn’t consider myself a die hard fan, and I entered this game with a surface level understanding of Jedis, Siths, The Force, and the galaxy, far far away. Fortunately, my experience was not hindered at all, and what information I did know before going in was rewarded. There were small cameos from characters I recognised from the films, and plenty of familiar songs will score your journey.
Unfortunately, all of these praises are under a caveat that the game didn’t run the best on launch and still struggles occasionally. These hiccups were minor in my experience, and often occurred when exploring new areas, leading me to believe that the game is chugging as it loads new textures in, perhaps this could be alleviated when playing on the PS5s SSD, but on the PS4 it did struggle in some minor areas. On PC it was a similar story on my Hard Drive, but everything was as smooth as possible on an SSD. All footage was captured on PC, but I have played both versions. I’d say go for the PC version as it offers more replayability through mods, some of which are a bit too horny for my taste, but others like being able to customise your lightsaber down to the exact colour value, can enhance a new game plus playthrough.
Star Wars is a series I am not very familiar with. With the release of star wars jedi survivor I’ve had an urge to replay star wars jedi fallen order. With the release of a new star wars game on the horizon, we should look at one of the better star wars game, perhaps the best star wars game, which I find to be consistently on the cusp of perfection. This Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Critique, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Review, or Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Analysis will feature Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Gameplay, throughout. This Jedi Fallen Order Review, Jedi Fallen Order Analysis, or Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Retrospective, was made by That Boy Aqua.

Okay, after watching this I'll give this game a second chance. I've been looking forward to play it for a long time, and when I tried it last monday, I felt it was very underwhelming… I don't know, that intro was very bland and generic, Cal runs as if he wears diappers, and sliding sections reminds me of the turret sections in Mass Effect 3 (you can drop your controller and go make a sandwich and nothing happens). The aliens feel generic, the new ship feels generic, and the platforming just doesn't quite make it.
But… maybe I'm being too harsh. I'll give it a second try today.
watching this vid on opera gx lol its actually pretty cool
Uploading to TikTok is an awesome idea! Coincidentally I used to do a series on my channel called 60 Second Reviews – I absolutely loved making them, but shortform content really wasn’t good for the algorithm so the videos didn’t do well at all. TikTok is a much better place for that kind of thing!
Kel Kestis is the only new Jedi from the Disney era (last decade or so) thats worth a damn. His character is the best thing that came out of the Fallen Order storyline.
I’ve played the game twice. I love the game so much. Top 10 all time games for me
Aside from the complete lack of player choice, I guess that it's a decent game.
This game makes me want a force unleashed 3 (kinda) or a game where I can choose my path a little more, maybe feel more brokenly powerful like FU 1&2, but I want the polish and great gameplay of fallen order (which is a great game).
I just feel like FU’s use of the force and the way they let you manipulate the world around you and become OP with your upgrades, was excellent for a game. It’s just really old now lol.
hardest fight in the game is inquisitor cal
Stopped watching after he said pokemon
It has Cameron Monaghan in it so im never playing this trash
The new game + is the reason why I stopped 😭
can you do videos on The Force Unleashed 1 and 2?
There's rumours that Survivor is open world? Oh god no
great start then gets so boring tried to play it a couple of times but never get past like world 3 or 4 before the boredom just beats me. aweful janky combat , i get it hes a beginner hes not going to move well but it just too much.
I definitely forgot about it already cause it was painfully mid and a mash up of other more popular game mechanics
It's really not. Just an above average experience. Good but not a masterpiece. It copied so many other games it's ridiculous. But it copied good games. So, yeah, not a perfect game at all. That being said, I've bought this fucker 3 times.
Playing this game just made me want to play force unleashed imo without the star wars skin this game is pretty mediocre
I enjoyed Fallen order but it is far from perfect .
I can really tell how casual of a fan you are. It's painful.
why isnt this guy at a million fucking subs?!😐
It is perfect
I enjoy Fallen Order a lot but the pacing gets in the way of repeat playthroughs. I only managed to finish it twice on the hardest difficulty and abandoned my third because of the pacing. Hopefully Survivor does it better and doesn't rely on large, open-world maps with tedious collectibles like recent open-world action games.
This game helped me a lot during lockdown. My birthday was in April, it was the third week of strict lockdown and quarantine and it was quite a depressing moment in the world. My parents bought me this game digitally, since we couldn't leave our homes, and I had a blast with it. I don't consider myself an expert in SW lore, but I know for sure this game is respectful of the SW universe and I loved how they fitted in a story motivation that was, from the get go, destined to fail, since we all knew the Jedi Order was never restored. Still they made it work so well. Also, I love ponchos, I'm Argentinian and I felt represented😂 great video ♥
your youtube suggestions look identical to mine down to the chess videos
I gotta say, apart from DMC 5, I didn't even know all those games came out in 2019, and I mean I'm a Pokemon fan (granted aside from the Pokemon designs which have some of my favorites, I found Sword and Shield very forgettable l tbh) no shade to the other ganes btw, I didn't play those yet, because I remembered RE2R, Slay The Spire, Apex Legends, and Teppen all released that year.
And THEN I remembered that all of those combine don't add up to the time I put into either Iceborne or Fire Emblem Three Houses, both of which ALSO came out that year.
That's not even getting into stuff like rereleases and finally getting stuff like Trials Of Mana via Collection Of Mana, the Tales Of Vesperia Definitive port, Cyber Sleuth Complete Collection, and the Link's Awakening remake.
Man, 2019 was firing on all cylinders. And I know I'm forgetting more stuff. EDIT: Yeah Luigi's Mansion 3 and FF8 Remastered. Look, say what you will, but FF8 has my favorite FF OST, I will die on that hill.
sign
opens up the game for a 5th grandmaster playthrough
I mean other than the really really really really really bad gameplay sure
this game was pain bruh like the story and whatnot was really good but i couldn’t fully grasp the combat till the final boss fight
It's been three years! Where is all the time going?
This is one of the best Star Wars games ever made, and, to me, probably the best since Knights of the Old Republic. If there's one game I'm excited about this year, its Jedi Survivor.
I love this game but sekiro is just a better version of this game
It was buggy and too easy low cost souls like combat
My biggest gripe with the game in all 3 of my playtroughs is how rigid the force feels. It just doesn’t flow right for me compared to the force unleashed or even the most recent Lego Star Wars game.
Other than that stellar game
The combat is really good, the execution of the combat and the feel is just off a little bit. Good not great SW story, fun cameos and BD1 is the best. Replayed it after a couple of years and I loved it way more than the first time. I guess I had to understand it’s more of a dark souls and once you learn the combat system “it’s where the fun begins”
I thought I was good at this game too. Then I saw whitelight's review… then I knew I still had a while to go to become an A tier gamer.
That puzzle boy aqua showed and highlighted, the one with fire and the gravity well? Yeah that one didn't take me long to figure out, but still WAY too long once whitelight just showed what a 200IQ brain can do.
Instead of throwing the fire ball into the gravity well and then picking it up again and completing the puzzle… well, whitelight just dropped the fire mid air, then force froze it mid air… jumped over and completed the puzzle.
Way easier, way quicker, way smarter.
Hm
It was pretty mediocre and didn’t even finish it
I just started playing it again a couple days ago!
Cal was a better written and explored main character in one game than Rey in 3 movies. Not the greatest game ever but a decent one and I'm excited for Cal's story in survivor
I played it like a year after release, and though the story and overall concept was cool, the game was buggy, kinda ugly most of the times and customization was weak (punchos (what), lightsaber color and robot color). I feel like it will be like Uncharted where the jump between 1 and 2 will be huge. Back when I played it, my main thought was that it felt like a 2010 game left on the shelf for like 8 years and then rushed to market after a year of sorta polishing.
Maybe, I don't know, try looking away from the flashbang grenades????
