RIP the GTX 1060 6GB. The 1650 is now in first place, so we went digging through the rest of the Steam Hardware Survey to see if any other major changes have come about in the last two years.

lol next year its going to be a 1030 most popular GPU cause gpu keep going up in price and the entry lvl keeps going to like 400 bucks and up
80% of gamers from china and out side the USA and they all use xeons to game which are 6+ cores hyperthreading with slow 2.8ghz core speeds so that makese sense
here in america is the only place gamers dont use xeons cause gamers in america think you need an i7 or i9 to game with a 4080 or 3090
My i7–7700k will prove itself until it no longer breathes. (I give it a year more at best, it's struggling tbh) 😀
most of intel users are on the 4th gen to 8th gen processors.
My 1050ti with dual core i3 and 8gb Ram PC is hanging by a thread
funny, i've been using a 1650 for 2 years now, didnt expect to see it here. i wouldn't specifically recommend it either but for the fairly low budget that i had back then, i'm still using it today for new games like elden ring, and if you don't mind having graphics set to low it can run almost everything
Hello, I was wondering if an i3 12100f from intel with a RX 6500 XT from AMD wouldn't really bottleneck. If they do, I would appreciate a recommendation. Thanks
Rx 580 mofos having better and cheaper gpu
I have a question. When I'm gaming and my fps is low, should I upgrade the ram or buy a GPU? I'm new to this. Thanks.
Why no 5700xt? They're selling for $180-$220 and are on par with a 2070 super which are $280-$320. Any budget system has to start there.
i mean you could always go for the rx 6600 xt, get double the performance(gaming vise) and not break your bank account.
Would this be ok for the beginner pc?
5:40 I myself got a WD Black SN850 1TB for 100 bucks! I was eyeing the 970 Evo Plus but the WD Black had Gen 4 speeds so I grabbed that. NVMes are surprisingly very affordable now. Kinda crazy
I thought mine was pretty average for today…2-ish years old now, I tried to make it cheap as I could of course but I didn't want it "struggling" to keep up.
ASRock B550M/ac – 10g PNY 3080 – 3700X – 4×8 Ballistix 3600 cl 16 – RM1000X – CM 240 AIO – Neo Air case – 8 Sickleflow fans – LG 32GN600 – 1TB Firecuda Nvme – 1TB PNY sata ssd.
Pretty good jump from a 2008-9 Dual Xeon, 48 g, 1GB ATI Radeon HD MacPro I got for free. I converted it to Windows only. (my daughter is still using it).
Started with W7 on a separate drive using Mac's "bootcamp"…which gives you dual boot capability…While 7 was open, upgraded to W10 which got rid of "bootcamp" and now it just boots in Windows…formatted the other 3 drives…McWindows machine.
need to do this again but linus chooses from top 3 of each category and can make the best decision. should also buy used case and gpu. OR just show the noobs how to buy a super system for $400 on fb marketplace lols
Mine is just above average with a 1660 Super lmao
This makes me feel a lot better abt my pc ngl I have a 3070 ti and a 12700k
Ayooo the Samsung 970 Nvme is now more expensive than it was when this vid was made WTF
Please never buy a TR2, the SMART series are ok, but the TR2s are a fire hazard
wow! it has 2 hdmi ports!!
i watch linus from time to time but i can never enjoy the snarky 'im too good for that' vibes
is all of these compatible?
CPU – Intel i9 13th Gen 13900k
GPU – NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4090 24GB

PSU – Cooler Master M2000 Platinum Full-Modular 80 Plus Platinum
Motherboard – Asus Rog Maximus Z790 Extreme
Wifi Card – TP-Link Archer TXE72E
Os – Windows 11 Pro
My old system was still great feeling with a i7 4770k and a 1060 ssc 16gb ram.
Glad I got to save up for my system now tho I have a i7 12700k 32 gb ram and just bought yesterday a rx 7900xtx. Upgraded from a rx 5700xt as the card itself was having some issues. Should've read more that XFX isn't a very good model. This time got a gigabyte card and it's running amazingly for 1440p 144hz
i literally have this exact pc, but a different case
Cooler master 212 cooler is now the most expensive
1080p at 27" closeup looks horrible
Also fixed monitor stands suck balls, they are horrible
How did you just make me feel better about getting scammed like 200 usd on my laptop like 2 years ago?
this is basically my rig, except i rock a 1660 instead of a 1650 and a slightly older amd cpu. i have never had any major problems with games running poorly, even on high-ish settings (with the exception of doom eternal, which had a 100% chance of BLUE SCREENING my pc). i am looking to upgrade soon to a 3060 or something like that, but until then, this is an excellent build! sadly i paid a little too much for it because i built it at the beginning of 2021.
get a steam deck
i have GDDR6 on my 1650
Hope you keep this series going, sounds like good New Gaming PC build guide. I'm rocking a i7-4790, GTX 1060, 16gb Ram, 430 watt power supply and a 15 year old case, but Windows 11 might force a new build in a few years.
To anyone on a budget who wants a good mouse AND keyboard: The HcMan Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is worth a look, seriously. It has replica blue switches (not hot-swappable) and a very robust build quality. It hasn't got a numpad or RGB, and it ain't the prettiest think on the market, is extremely loud, but damn it's worth the money.
Been using this thing for 3 years now, and have spilled an entire ass cup of coffee on the thing and it still works after a day of being a lil' buggy. Cost me £20 to get, which must be like 26 USD or something. Give it a look, fr.
most average bomb in 2022
6:45 ain't that Corsair one the number 1 tho?
A 3050 is more than a 2060 and performs worse, just a note about that 3050 recommendation.
the i5-12400 is the average? its like… really good xD defo not an i9 but my new gaming PC with a 3060ti has an i5-12400F and its amazing lmao
How the hell was this whole build 750?
Would like to know, if i have a case from 2016 (corsair spec -03), will there be compatibility problem with modern motherboards? I never see someone discussing this topic. I my old pc's case exists, why would i need to buy new one when building a new pc.
05:11 in Singapore 1 TB cost 150 dollars how you guys getting 2 TB for half hahaha
oh thank god i have a gtx 1660 whew
That gpu price is crazy. I could get a 6650xt for only like 20 bucks more
Back in 2020 I paid 400$ For a single fan 1650, then later mid 2022 i paid 400$ for an RTX 3060, just goes to show you how much prices of GPUS have fluctuated and how crazy it actually was to be a PC Shopper during pandemic
A step back? I was born in the early 90s and I cant tell the difference between a game from 2011 or 2023, some older games still look really amazing to me, I think for me its more about the ambience and story than the actual visuals going on in the game.
linus looking a lil sick tired and hungover a bit there
I definitely wouldn't go for this setup if I was building on a similar budget. An AMD setup would deliver way better price to performance.
