In 1978, Arda M. Haenszel of the San Bernardino County Museum Association provided the details of a โgiantโ prehistoric earthen archaeological feature known locally in the area of Needles, California, as the โMystic Maze.โ After careful consideration of the evidence, Haenszel found that the windrows of gravel are likely prehistoric but certainly do not form a โmaze.โ Though her foundational work is seminal, the function of this approximately 100-acre site has continued to mystify, with strong evidence of historic construction associated with the railroad. Not previously considered is the archaeological evidence supporting a functional association with prehistoric agricultural activity. https://www.scahome.org/publications/proceedings/Proceedings.25Lopez.pdf

I have seen these exact things in southeastern Arizona North of Wilcox. The whole area is riddled in ancient artifacts.
Or is it both
Looks like a whole city by the river
so asteriod would smash/.. lighting /plasma would lift up the ground cool cant wait for more on that.thankx
Yo Professor "ฤ" you teach so hip it hurts my melon… but for real dude it looks like a very large but now misshapen animal kind of thing…. maybe these lines represent animal fur/hair. But maybe I'm just suffering from "Hairidolia"…..yuk yuk.๐คช
Too bad our collective memories are strained over a little more than a hundred years.
It appeared to be other mounds that were obliterated to the left of the more prominent mound.
If it was gravel harvesting you'd think there would be wagon roads that left scars that could be measured Mmmmm , the old Santa Fe trail is a good example .
Wish I could have been here live. Was in a sinus cold, benadryl coma lol.
I've driven by this maze and had NO idea it is even there. I know of the Iglios south of there but wow, no idea.
7:38 time marker in front of the mound across the highway ,slightly to the left ….widescan 10:16 time marker ,is that a pyramid??? ..then Montana "Ancient ones"????? ….oh shit…..that's not Native american or european ,just like the great pyramid is not Egyptian ,almost all of them (tower of Babel) ,broke Sumer's unity when all ethnic tribes ,spoke as one …..i can almost track them all bac to Sumer ,his name was Enlil some call him Yahweh , he is no god,he is a fallen son of tiamat ,Baalbek is not Roman either ,One of Tiamat's Son's Ea/Enki/Poseidon ,who founded ATLANTIS = 445,000 – 12,000 ,they are brothers ,in revelations 12 ,that's Enlil that great red dragon… in Revelations 10…the mighty angel , is who helped mankind survive the last extinction level event 12,000 years ago and calamities during the days of ATLANTIS ,that is Enki …. it was the star of Nibiru/planet 10 ,not Bethlehem…i'm not good at parables ,her son's not myths .they left their prints set in stone & DNA .. but flesh & blood advanced living beings , Star of Nibiru, not Bethlehem
Hi Diamond, thanks for another interesting site. Found this the other day and would love to know how you think this was created, looks awesome – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoaJQq4PRBg
Those "terraces" are nothing more than structures to increase the roughness of the terrain to prevent the landslide from reaching the dam that is further down the river, it is an old way of securing the terrain and they have filled with sand over the years… even some Australian aborigines used that type of terrace to plant crops, even though they were not entirely perfect for watering them through irrigation canals by filtration
I don't disagree with anything put forward here, but could this not be the case of Indians in the area maintaining it thru the generations until they could not any longer (driven away, killed, assimilated)?
Sorry to say, but the myth of the Topock Maze was debunked in an on-site archeological and documentary study and report published in 2011, by Ruth Arlene Musser-Lopez (Archeological Heritage Associates). While there may have been some older Native-American geoglyphs in the immediate area, there is no mention of any furrows existing on the site in the 1853-54 report by the Smithsonian's Whipple scientific survey expedition to the area. Records of railway bridge construction in 1891 by SM Rowe detail the method of gravel quarrying on the site, revealing that the furrows on the site happen to be the same uniform width (3-and-a-half feet) as the Buck and Fresno scrapers employed at the time. Modern claims by "the local Mohave People" overlook the fact that a previous generation of these same people were largely employed in this gravel harvesting operation, themselves, debunking later claims that this site was of any real "sacred" significance to them. Details of these operations were also recorded in magazine articles in the 1930s and 50s. Claims of this site being of any prehistoric origin began with Edward S Curtis, in 1907, "long considered unreliable in his stories of Native American culture", and a doctored photograph by Fred Curtis, taken in 1908, and published as a postcard in 1913, just as Needles, Calif., was beginning to see increased rail and road traffic, and would shortly after become incorporated into "America;s Mother Road", Route 66. The local high school changed the name of their yearbook to "The Maze" in the 1920s, as it all became part of local legend. I've even visited it, myself.
They myth of the "Mysterious Topock Maze" has been summed up by the more practical, less gullible Musser-Lopez as follows:
"In conclusion, whether commercial or mystical, the maze has been a valuable roadside attraction for over 100 years, and the controversy over its age, origin, and function is now irrelevant to its significance, whether historic or prehistoric. Its size and striking visual presentation, the legend and mystery, real or imagined, and the debate itself, all add to the importance of this site not only to the local culture, but as a national monument to American ingenuity and and entrepreneurial creativity. In the words of Randall Henderson (1956), 'It is an interesting relic of the trail-blazing days on the desert frontier, and as such deserves to be preserved.' All in all, it represents another of the great legends of American Folk and Native American history."

LiDAR?
The Hinckley PG&E contamination site (Erin Brockovich) is 158 miles west of Needles. I looked it up because I have family thar recently moved to the Mohave desert
It looks like irrigation for farming to me. I see rows like in a large operation. It is close to the river, wonder if they utilized the river to water stuff. That's what I see. Maybe it's just me. Think of rice paddies. Going through Idaho in May. Might have to stop and see!
Edit..written during..lol
Looks like farming to me, to keep water? Idk…watching the rerun.
Well…how interesting. Too bad it's desert. If there were treefall, one, or many ppl could permaculture that area right up . New, actual green new deal, like the lady in Chyna is doing, greening up the desert??
But what do I know, I'm a dumbass…thanks Dime
Could they be ancient lake level terraces?
You guy's have a awesome country.
FYI: The coordinates of the Idaho geoglyphs are shown in the bottom right corner of the google map when you hover your mouse of the location.
