Port is left, best way to remember is port = 4 letters, left = 4 letters. its would be "red" so port. left red. just knowing port means you automatically know starboard, Starboard, right, green ( right = 5, green = 5)
Bow is the front, stern is the rear, easy to remember simple as well to bow you lean forward..
Port is left and starboard is right.
