As a person with bad eyesight Fuuuuuuck this. if i never close my game I don't have to patch right 🙂
I try not to complain about every little update but this is the dumbest shit ever….free look is one of the best mechanics in tarkov and I can’t think of one reason why this change was needed.
People need to stop complaining about the devs making good changes to the game and go outside this is a realistic military shooter go free look while looking down a scope irl and tell me how it goes 🤡

They should’ve just made it so you go back to 1x when you free look. Cause you can still free look with iron or red dots
Don't mind this tbh but would like them to allow the head to turn 90 degrees when freelooking, the current 45 degree range just feels unnaturally restricted, maybe just have that for some of the armour/helmet combos that would restrict you.

Honestly doesn't make much since. I mean Tarkov loves realism and I have never held a gun that stops me from looking around. But that's just me I guess.

Like I get if you pressed your cheek hard into the stock or something like that or if you were using a long range scope it would make sense no to look while ads but for real literally every other sim game allows this, as far as i know. At least its not a huge piss off I still love this game lol
i dont like the hole wipe and all new update movement and all i dont play EFT anymore cuz of this movement
i think this was a solution for stopping people using a magnified scope and then free-looking to get a magnified + un-obstructed view. they should make it where if you use iron sights or a non-magnified scope you should still be able to free look. or just add binoculars. russian early access.
okay imagen this you mount a tactical rangfinder on your gun.
now you scope in and want to see the range to the point your aiming at but cant turn you head to see it.
you go out of ads.
you loose point of aim.
Grate sucess.
Removing the zoomed in free look from ADS is a good change overall to prevent the unrealistic telescopic eyes, what I think they should do is put free look back in for ADS but as soon as you hit the free look keybind it only allows you to look around with your normal vision range
