also that's ellie's same gun from the game, the easter eggs are so amazing
Imagining preppers heads exploding when Frank and Bill kissed had me laughing – the end of their lives was triumphant. "I'm old. I'm satisfied. And you were my purpose."
🍓 🍓 😢😢
Gaymus? Lmao noo
They missed the best comedic part of the game which was Ellie and Bill’s interaction.
The most ridiculous part is that the whole actual episode is only 8 mins long! Not sure what the entire beginning parts suppose to be.
You don’t need kill counts
It would undermine pretty much everything in the episode… But they never show Bill's body. So in theory he could have just been lying to Frank. Maybe he was lying about the bottle.
It's the best episode of any show I've seen so far in 2023….I can't imagine how it going to be beaten
Bill: "Joel…I never liked you. But, I respect you". One of the best lines of the episode. I really busted out laughing.
Caymus is excellent wine. I would take that in a hot minute.
Worst episode imo did bill wrong
Don't read IGN comments.
I was getting impatient at first. Then I’m like nah this game was deep. The show is doing something and sheeeeeesh what an episode it was
It seems like you all think FEDRA is it's own government. It is now, but it's a play on FEMA. FEDRA was the US Gov. Disaster department who spearheaded managing the pandemic, and as things got worse, the US government failed, and the only part that remained was FEDRA.
After living a pandemic i laught a lot at how the use to thought the goverment and the citicens would react to a global event like that, like so eficient ha!
Honestly I wished that the bloater made an appearance because technically the school level happens here. However I did walk away depressed after this episode because god damn…
Why was frank going to Boston?
Keep in mind, in some ways, culture froze in 2003. In a lot of places folks remained closeted, especially considering some of the implied political leanings Bill may have had. And the idea, in the US, of gay marriage, was a pipe dream. You can also see this in the way Joel struggles to find words for Bill and Frank's relationship.
Ellie's not a psycho. But it would look that way to the uninitiated, which someone seems in that group seems to be. Does Riley ring a bell to that certain someone?
I feel the game version of bill and frank relationship is if bill didn’t compromise in that arguement 3 years after they met and continued to be shut off. That would have left 13 years of resentment to form
“Rooms starting to spin real fast cuz of the gayness”.
This was an incredible episode, and it seems like the three of you didn't understand or appreciate it
ellie killing the infected was an act of mercy and empathy… her first cut was seeing if it still felt pain, if it was still a person… it was more on the side of empathy than sociopathy.
also like brandon said, she grew up in a world of survival, not living…
So far every change from game lore has been an improvement, I truly hope that they continue on this trend.
Bill and Franks arc was the most beautiful storytelling I've seen in years, and dare I say the closest to a happy ending anyone in a post apocalypse world could ever hope for.
The game had the end of their story be sad, but typical for a horror story relationship, and because of the linear nature of the medium of video games (you are actively rushing the chosen one across the country) that was probably as good as could be done without a lot of exposition which would come across as forced, in the medium of film the viewer is along for the ride, it allowed them to really open this tale up, build on it, make the audience care, and then brutalise us all. I had to console a sobbing girlfriend for an hour and apologise profusely for not warning her how intense this episode would get. (first watch for me too, I was expecting the game version with a little more backstory!)
I think Ellie killing the infected in that way could be her trying to desensitise herself to the act, combined with vengeance for Riley and Tess, setting up her coping mechanism of vengeance for future seasons?
RIP Bill and Frank.
Anna Vanston is really pretty!
episode one: love is pain
episode two: love is tragedy
episode three: love is bittersweet
Worst reaction to an amazing episode of tv. Read the room. Not everything has to be a joke.
White room by cream references alot of colors. Might say the colors of the rainbow.
I was legit triggered by the suicide scene thank you for helping me laugh at that part.
I'm not tripping about his story being different it was great to me
I was not emotionally prepared for that episode
I definitely cried a lot during this episode
49:20 🤣🤣 love it
After this episode I'm not watching week to week. I know the series is going to be great but after waiting every week I feel I've got to rewatch every episode.
I’m so happy I never played this game. These “it’s not like the game!” People are exhausting.
