Is this the beginning of the end?! Nick Cave has come out and said the ‘Apocalypse Is On Its Way’ after a fan sent him a song written by AI “in the style of Nick Cave”. He called the AI-generated song “a grotesque mockery of what it is to be human”. Is he right? Is this kind of AI generated art the beginning of the end? Is the end already here?! What does this mean for songwriting? What makes a lyric great? Can AI simulate something so personal? Please tell me what you think in the comments.

Is this beginning of the end?! Be honest…is this a good thing? Can AI write songs as brilliant as some our favourite songwriters?
AI looks like a lot of technology in the sense that it offers both a threat and opportunity, but a lot of the latter depends on human society being thoughtful enough to consider the implications. The opportunity here would seem to be: Is the value of art just in its surface appearance, or in something deeper? Is the aesthetic alone really all it was ever there for? Or is the human element the entire point of art existing in the first place? We're only just starting to see what AI is capable of, but thinking of what Stephen Hawking said about its evolution not being limited in speed the way ours is, we may be too slow to think it through before it gets out of hand. To me, the human element and its natural variability is what art is all about. I hate autotune, let alone something completely spat out by an algorithm. To me, something that detached from the human experience just doesn't have any point – I can't see a reason to choose it over something human. Cheers.

People who fear the eventual takeover of AI don't really understand AI. One important difference between humans and AI is that humans don't have an on/off switch.
The first thing that anyone should realize is that there is no such thing as a real "utopia"… and people will inevitably hack their way into doing less input with more output…
And science can't somehow make that practical… its kinda like an overunity device
