  1. For an early tech demo that’s impressive that they recreated all the areas quite faithful. But there was something about the pre-rendered back drops that have a charm to them.

I would like to see them make fixes to some of the bugs like the Slot Machine for stat gain boost.

Keep me posted! I love DW1.

  2. That's pretty cool, they're going to have their hands full though, smoothing out the glitches that somehow made it into the final game. The most egregious being the jukebox that crashes the game, and the handful of infinite text looping glitches from the final area; unless they are recreating everything from the ground up.

  3. few times ago there was digimon world remake, but for unknown reason the game is gone like wind, even the download site also gone , i hope this one survive and deliver us the true remake we longing for so goddamn long!!!

  4. I don't really see why I'd play the fan remake over just emulating the original. No offense to the creators of this project but the pre-rendered backgrounds look great and would probably be less time consuming in the long run.

  5. I love how smooth & colourful it looks! I'd love seeing some of the modern Digimon in a style like this!
I wonder how much of this was made by hand. Like, how did Jijimon end up looking like that? But other models look accurate!
I've heard animating & rigging can all be big ordeals….
    Neat video! Thanks for uploading!

  6. DW1 is my life, any fan content surrounding it sparks joy within me

It's probably because I played it as a kid, but there's something special about that game (despite its flaws). Since the game doesn't explain many things well, there's an air of mystery to the island and to the digivolution process.

I also like the rendered backgrounds portraying natural environments with wires and lcd screens scattered among them. It really sparked my imagination as a kid.

And I really enjoy the virtual pet mechanics and hands-off battle system. I wish more games took inspiration from DW1.

  7. Tested the game, not even an alpha. It's not worth the time it takes to download and run the program to experience some dialog, room transitions and clunky movement accompanied by low effort models. You can't train your digimon, can't fight, can't even see their stats, it's a waste of time.

  8. There's a few fan remakes actually. I think the farthest one so far is one using Cyber Slueth assets in a 3D environment, and there was another person that Slamantha interviewed with some high quality models made from scratch.
