In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don’t always put a positive spin on humanshumanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

Er, pretty sure that is EXACTLY how FTL works, except for the going through planets part.
That said, this is the beginning of a story, the antimatter attacks are not explained. If it's the beginning of a series, well and good, but it doesn't stand on it's own.
So… no real conclusion? Just the mystery of someone shooting antimatter at the sun, and then finding out where they might have come from, and then nothing? Did this author work at Bad Robot or something?

For the Algorithm the story and the voice
Story is definitely a 1 of xx chapters, since there are way too many unfinished threads here.
Mostly just want to know what moron think shooting "naked" anti-mater projectiles is a good idea since while space is "mostly" empty, it is still filled with particulate matter. Imagine a speck of dust just floating inches in front of the barrel or whatever they are using to push those projectiles.

Hmmm, I don't think the antimatter was an attack, if it was a series of single particles aimed at the sun, it would have done very little to the sun while creating a series of flashes pointing to their origin system, giving us a way to know that someone is out there.
Is there another part?
Are they attacks, or accidental discharges? Or something else?

Someone fucked around, so the rules say that they now have to find out.
The sheer improbability of putting 2 PARTICLES on a collision course accross hundreds of thousands of kilometres is the one thing that makes it really difficult for me to suspend my disbelief.
Honestly, as far as hypothetical science goes, this story is far from the best.
"a Phase drive generated a field around your transport. This then allowed you to accelerate the field and it's contents to super light speeds in real space."

I like the way the AI drone used empty way points on it way back in case it was being followed.
For the algorithm
to me, it sounds like a science experiment. We oberve the incoming light of distant stars, but this only give us "old" informations, because we get images that are maybe billions of years old.
A constant "Signal" every 3 Days could be a Ping of an interstellar Probe, scanning a Starsystem. Like poking the star with antimatter droplets and checking the results of the reflected energy ( different wave lengths, changes in magnetic fields,…). A star is always active so a small "puff" of a antimatter droplet vanishing on solar surface is to small to detect, if youre not looking for it.
They found hints of an artificail Source somewhere in space, probably between 2 starsystems. A manned spacecraft would have noticed that something isnt right with the antimatter signal, stopping the signal to prevent an overload/explosion. A probe on the other Hand would follow its programming and keep sending out the signal until the reflected droplets crashed into the probe.
Im guessing that some Scientists are very confused why their expensive Probe does not sending signals back home anymore.
For the algorithm
technologically inferior beings should not make easily detected attacks on superior ones.
