Niel spoke about being able to implement a lot more scenes and stuff they couldn't fit into the game. I love the additional information; it flows seamlessly between the new additions and the scenes that are faithful to the game.

The death of Sarah hit a lot harder in the game IMO. I actually teared up not when she died, but earlier on when Joel forgot the cake and promised to get her one tomorrow. That detail, along with additive scenes like Joel unemotionally throwing the dead body of a little girl into a fire years later… those moments are what I LIVE FOR.

The new good standard for video game adaptation. I suspect won’t be easily topped for a long time.
I don’t think they’ll do any of the spores sections as I haven’t seen any preview stills with the actors wearing gas masks and this being made for tv the actors need to show their faces and not wear a gas mask a whole or majority of an episode. 🤷♂️
I'm still not convinced of Bella Ramsey as Ellie, all the other actors so far gave that feeling they're perfect for the roles, whereas she doesn't remind me of Ellie at all
Hugh Jackman definitely would have made a better Joel.
Honestly, this show was worth the wait. They really did all the right things from casting to set design, to new story introductions. Sarah's death gutted me again, even after playing the games so many times and knowing what's going to happen.

The choice to make show take place in 2023 is a little on the nose, but I love that change tbh. It's probably really obvious, but I love how they want us to compare the situation of the world in 2023 in real life, and the situation off the world in the show.

This is a good example of how to adapt a game and maybe pave the way for other great games like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy X, Assassin's Creed 2, God of War, Red Dead Redemption, Resident evil 4 and more
