Saw a "dying cockroach" exhibit on a large construction jobsite … we were building a mammoth Fed Ex sorting machine inside an equally big facility.
This "dying cockroach" elaborate routine was a required entry ritual performed by an pledging member of a secret society within one of the skilled trades.
This one … the appearance of having fallen 40 feet to his twisted/broken death … from the second level down to the first level … dying cockroach routine … everyone (hundreds unknowing, including myself) run to his aid … it's was brutal, scary AF …
only to see the supposed "victim" get up walk away as if nothing happened.
We all subsequently learned it was an elaborate prank.

Spent 8 years in the 82nd 1st/504th from 04-12. If it wasn’t for NCO’s like this I wouldn’t have come home from my first deployment. I isolate quite a bit and listening to this podcast helps me feel connected to a degree, especially when it’s with shooters who took their careers to places I could only dream of.
