  1. I changed the fluid in an old volvo once, a couple of days later it stopped motating. Had to replace the whole transmission. Used the correct fluid, but it just up and died. At least it was my own car and not a friends. Wizard is a Wizard for a reason.

  2. If someone is pricing a truck up to $90,000 thats their proplem they are wanting a bunch of crap they do not need. I got a well equiped 2022 Denali 2500 duramax new for $80,000. I didn't need a Denali but thats what I wanted. It seems like people who complain about price are people who want all kinds of options they don't need and can't afford, no one is forcing you to buy a new truck if you don't like the prices don't buy a new one no one is forcing you to.

  3. I have to wonder who his mechanic was or guy changing the oil.🤔. This is probably a jiffy lube attendant or equivalent because a good mechanic would of made some inspections. These issues you found have been bad for some time and could of been a safety issue to driver and others on the road. Thanks for being an Honest Mechanic Car Wizard. 👍Money was well spent on this GMC👍

  4. Man I got a 2012 GMC Sierra that's down right now… got a P0641 code and absolutely cannot figure what is wrong. I bought it with the intentions of keeping it for a long time but idk anymore

  5. I bought a 2011 crew cab 6 speed trans Silverado LT Z71 with 85k miles, clean body for 23k in November 2020. Been a great truck so far. Turned the AFM off once I saw a video from you talking about it with a programmer.

  6. Planning my next project. A 2500 or 3500 plow rig with extended cab for $2k or so. Got a $600 5.3LS at 100k miles and a 97 3500 frame and minty panels ($400) from a 2007 Silverado which might cause mounting issues, but that's why it's a project. My current y2k 4.8LS at 333k miles is still going with the rebuilt 4L60 xmission.

  7. Serious question: I've never heard a tech recommend Turning rotors – always say to replace, yet they all seem to have the rotor lathe. Does anyone actually use those lathes? If not, why are they so expensive on the used market?

  8. 18:00 transmission is already freaking bad if it can't take new fluid and a service… Stop spreading this myth and just change the damn fluid and service it properly.

    Put some Lucas transmission additive in if you think it's a sealing issue

  9. My 2016 Silverado 1500 hits 186K miles, 😅 , I think it is very good quality, never breaks, I was thinking get rid of it but these days trucks price are so high, I will keep it fix it after watch ur video. Thank you!

  10. The issue isn’t the car market the issue is morons willing to say yes to high mileage vehicles and pay double what there worth I remember years ago if a car had a 150k it would sit and it was considered high mileage now cars with 200k plus being sold for double for what there really worth

  11. i use to own a 2013 silverado last year they made them like in the video. i bought it brand new 0 miles and owned it for 7 years and 115k miles i did have to get it the lifters replaced due to the active fuel management at 40k (chevy power train warranty) and the transmissions rebuilt at 60k once again chevy power train warranty. besides that i have no issues with the truck. i sold it and got a duramax diesel after because i started towing a cargo/toy hauler state to state and the 5.3 didn't really like it.

GMT900 is probably one of the best trucks ever produced, cheap to maintain, last forever, in 11-12 years of owning we did brake once, 1 O2 sensor, a wheel bearing, a delete tune to the DPF git on that level Ford. oh and the recall module for the airbag underneat the drivers seat, fueltank (diesel tank cap failed and it shrunk the tank) overall thats under a 1000bucks, DIY. Edit: theyre also timeless design that'll rival with the squarebodies in a few years, just looks WAYYYY TOOO good compared to stuff thats around

  13. I'm convinced the absolute best GMT was the 2008/2009 Yukon Denali or Escalade. They had the 6.2 but the best part about that was that in 2008/2009 they had no AFM/DOD hardware at all. 2007 had the hardware but was not active however for 2008 and 2009 no AFM/DOD hardware. Then in 2010 it was reintroduced and fully active.
    I had a 2008 Yukon Denali AWD and it made it 260k miles before actually tearing into the engine. Transmission still shifted perfectly and the interior was in amazing condition.

  14. Once my mechanic told me they found quite a few problems and told me what I wanted to do I just looked at him and said « what do you mean, we’re going to fix all of it » the look on his face was priceless. I could tell he was used to people who like to trash their cars as fast as possible.

  15. This is my bodystyle..2010 Sierra Denali….cool thing is if you get a 6.2 in the 1500’s from 07-13’ it does not have afm..the 5.3’s do but the 07-13 6.2’s don’t. This is why I very hesitant to get rid of her for a newer one….L9H BABY.

  16. The thing that bothers me the most with GM trucks, is the always rusted rear fenders. Now whe have rotted out rear crossmembers and a broken upper driver side shock mount. 4 now, keep an 👁 on the rockers on out!!!!
