  2. Tip for those Distress Beacon maps. Buy at least five of them and just keep holding down "E" or whatever activation is on your controller until all 5 points of interest have been marked: 2x "Distress Signal", "Crashed Freighter", "Observatory", and "Abandoned Building". It'll give a red error message, but if you keep mashing E, it'll eventually mark all 5. Then you only have to do a close flyby of one of those two "Distress Signal" markers, just get close enough to check for an NPC, but don't land if you see one. You want the marker to stay marked if it has an NPC so you can avoid it. If it's an empty ship, job done! Now, next time you use a Distress Signal map, it'll always mark an empty ship somewhere, because all the other four locations are already marked down in that system.

  4. To avoid possible pirate encounters flying the ship you want to scrap, you can fly your primary ship into space and summon the Anomaly. Inside the Anomaly switch to the ship you want to scrap & use the Anomaly's teleport to teleport to the space station where you can scrap the newly acquired ship.
