Peter Hitchens: 'Britain is inefficient, incompetent and unworkable'

Writing in the Mail on Sunday, Peter Hitchens said: “What a twisted society we have become. We stir up wars in other people’s countries and praise ourselves for doing it.

“But there is no political reward for protecting our own people against crime and disorder on their streets and in their homes. It is no longer clear if anyone is governing the country at all, so busy are we putting other nations to rights.

“Burglaries go unprevented, uninvestigated and unpunished, in colossal numbers. Our capital city seethes with uncontrolled knife crime and stinks of marijuana.

“Christmas brings news of terrible ultra-violent crimes in supposedly peaceful suburban areas. Migrants stride boldly ashore in unknown numbers. We pay heavy taxes for pitiful services, cratered roads and a health system that is the envy of nobody.”

  1. You'd think it was invaded by the Soviet Union? This guy doesn't hide his hate… Even on a program supposedly saying Britain has no right to point the finger. Double speak, duplicity, and straight up contradiction. Go Brits 😂

  2. Some sound common sense in discussion here, in relation to just about everything. Why UK politicians fail to demonstrate belief in what they do, climate change and slavery. Let's not forget that those whose ancestors suffered as a result of slavery, may also be children that greatly benefited from being in the US and earning vastly more than they would otherwise have done, a few hundred years or so later. Or indeed, that there were not just European's involved in the slave trade but resident black gangs, in operation, capturing their own people for sale to the slave traders. Is anyone going after them for reparations. Thought not. Learn about slavery and all the protagonists and you might see more than one side to this awful part of European history. However, the one thing we can all agree with, is that it simply shouldn't have happened.

Climate Change is real, just not what they think it is. Climate Change is way more complicated than scientific data research and CO2 production is definitely a symptom of a warming environment not a cause. The solution is to plant trees, the only answer that will ever work. Without Carbon Dioxide, there would be no plants and without plants, shrubs or trres, the herbivores would die and without herbivores the carnivores would die. The only thing keeping All of life going is Carbon Dioxide and the process known as photosynthesis, without it, you simply don't exist. Depopulation is what climate change support is all about. If you want to be killed off in the process because you believe the people behind it, you need to wake up and start following the money. That is where you will find all the answers. It's time to smell the coffee. The matrix is almost upon us, you are going to become a human battery if you don't wake up soon. Maybe you like the matrix. As a film, it's brilliant. You won't be plugged in physically, but you will be plugged in virtually. That's what is happening. The rich people will own everything, you will own nothing. WEF tell you that you'll be happy.

Check out the perpetrators of this modern day virtual plug in battery system. You can visit their website. The organisation, WEF. Who else. Don't know who they are yet. I recommend you check them out. All the climate lockdowns that are coming are there entrap you and confine you. Restrict your freedoms and it's all built on lies. That's the real hurt. There's plenty of evidence that shows this to be the case. Noone is listening but, I will be building a channel in 2024 to start providing clarity on this matter. Noone will talk to me. I rather expect they classify me as a nutter. Yet there it is in our geology. Indisputable truth that the Earth has been warmer than it is today, and the sea levels some 20 metres or so higher than they are today, fact. The average person needs to start understanding this global lie. Carbon Dioxide is not the demon they make it out to be. It's the life giver.

Lies, lies and more lies. In everything we see. Data manipulation lying scientists and profiting political players. Where did it all start. Al Gore in the US. He really wanted his big pay day. Tony Blair in the UK. Why did he commit the UK to energy poverty.

If you made it to here, well done. Time for you to look a bit more closely at the main protagonists in all this. WEF, World Economic Forum. Get yourself educated. Don't trust the garbage from the BBC they've closed the case on this one. People like me are simply ignored. Don't be like them. Trust facts. That's all there is left.

  3. This is what 40 years of Conservatism favoring property and financial speculation does to your country. Meanwhile in holland and the Nordic countries they have social democracy. We ought to try it.

  6. I thought Peter was bright. Britain had been paying for the ending of slavery, since it ended it. People may not agree on the means but it was ended and the funding for that came from the brtitish tax payer. It's really that simple.

  7. Take one look at the BBC World Service and you could be forgiven for thinking you were watching an African news channel.
It is unbelievably irrelevant in it's coverage of what's really going on in the world.

He speaks of knowing history, yet Britain only a few years ago paid off its massive debt to end slavery 200 years ago. What more recompense could be paid? The world should be paying us reparations.

I used to think Peter was joking when he said that but I now suspect he is right.

I do not believe the situation can be reversed.

  11. I cannot believe that Hitchens implied that because America is a "top nation" with lots of bombs it is ok for America to go around telling other countries how to run things there. WTF? This shows a total ignorance of what the Ukraine conflict is all about: Russia is taking the lead to ensure that western hegemony comes to an end in a new world order that ensures every country is sovereign and the west should butt out of other country's affairs. Russia has the backing of the majority of countries by population, China, India, Brazil, the Saudis the other Persian Gulf states, and almost all the African nations.

  13. Modern Britain is the product of 43, near 44, years of Thatcherism (albeit fur-lined during the New Labour era). Before Tories like P Hitchens whine about the current state of the country, they would do well to reflect on this fact

  14. Slavery! Africans of whom were the victims of slavers were put into bondage by their own elites! No European scoured the African hinterland looking for slaves. They were rounded up and caged by their own kings etc. a statue stands in the Nigerian capital of a woman who was one of the most active slavers and is still regarded as a national hero! Maybe Barbados should be putting in a reparation claim to the President of Nigeria and lots of other west African countries? Maybe Ireland and the U.K. should be putting in a claim to the countries in Africa where the Barbary Coast pirates operated from who raided the above coastlines and took whole communities away into slavery? What about the Arabs and Persians who took sub-Saharan Africans into slavery! Should reparation claims be made against their descendants? This current move for reparations is just graft and should be rejected. It’s the British who brought an end to the Atlantic Slavs trade – we have nothing to be ashamed of!

  16. Excellent point about the disappearance of reflexive verbs. Something which the media have intentionally promoted. They must attend language sessions to drop words as they all do it, like the Orwellian language Newspeak.

  17. Any "reparations" would go the same way as "devolopment aid": straight into the pockets of the corrupt "leaders" who have kept their countries poor in spite of (or perhaps because of) many years of independence. Britain's main role in the Atlantic slave trade was to abolish it. The Barbery Corsairs' much longer trade in kidnapping and enslaving white slaves for the muslim slave markets was also, after centuries, finally ended by the US and British navies, and the French occupation of Algeria.

  18. FREE SARGON! LOL "Great, but wrong". A person who was right 500 years ago, on one subject, taking the moral high ground of today. Now, I get it, I think id be the same, but it disguises the incorrections. Hitchens' beauracy ruins his persona. Pull in!

  19. Hitchins is talking absolute sense. Many people in parliament are career politicians from University with no previous life experience. They haven't worked in Industry or Commerce or been in the Military. How can they make possibly make sound decisions when they have no serious experience of work to guide them. You might as well ask a class of five year olds to run the country.
