Everything WRONG With The Callisto Protocol

We shouldn’t have been that surprised that The Callisto Protocol, a game that began as an expansion of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, ended up as a mess. The only thing that could have made this attempt at creating a spiritual successor to Dead Space even more of a disaster would have been a scammy Kickstarter campaign.

  1. Im just really disappointed this is more of an action game than horror suzi hunter said that and I trust her opinion ❤ I recommend signalis instead of this game what a bummer and bland game who cares about visuals Jesus Callisto is something so uninspired

  2. A bad analysis, the explanation of horror nostalgia. As is often the case, the severe limitations lead to a high level of innovation in a few cases. That is why people want these back. Since then innovation is part of the process or there can be no game worth mentioning. This game, however, does not quite fall into that category, since it is not an actual nostalgia game.

  3. They honestly ahould of waited 2 more years to release this game. Way to many annoying issues. The subtitles do not add up to what they are saying. Glitchy sounds still. Enemies can be 30 feet away. Yet sound like they are near you. The combat is boring. Not a horror game. The story was boring. It really bugged me badly how they couldn't get the basic information right. You need a special space suit to stand outside on Calisto. That mask won't cut it. You need a full suit. Also there is radiation thats hitting that planet. You need to have a suit that can protect against that. Plus the dangerous weather conditions. Honestly they all should have radiation poison. They woild have to terraform the planet. They would probably have to use special bubble domes to protect against the radiation. Fighting discount Eyedol from Killer Instinct 4 damn times got tedious. I was rowing my eyes after the 4th fight. He spawns out of thin air. I was honestly expecting the K.I announcer to shout combo breaker when I hit him with the baton. Actually for all the monsters you fight. I was expecting to hear the K.L theme too. Once the boss was killed. I was also expecting to hear supreme victory. I noticed weird out of boundaries stuff too. You can see prisoners out of bounds not moving. Wonder if anyone else saw that. Im honestly disappointed with the game. It feels rushed. It made no sense why there were so many death traps you could use to kill the monsters. Felt like a jigsaw game.

  4. At around the 23-minute mark of this video, there is a cut scene that has the big monster Jacob has to face several times show up behind Danny. This monster is not stealthy and is clearly visible but neither Jacob nor Danny notices until it is about a yard away from them.

  5. This is why the gaming world is in trouble. Bad knock off games, bad story, crazy no sense plot points, lazy combat system… the scary thing is that this game seemed complete on release. No original ideas anymore. Love you shred these to pieces though so every cloud and all that.

  6. Very good game. I don’t care what people say for me combat, atmosphere and graphics in it is enough to enjoy it. There is nothing wrong with Callisto Protocol if you are not spoilt expert.

  7. Normally I enjoy your videos, but this one… What's with all the blurring of Gamefotage? I watched Trophyrun Videos of CP and there was nothing blurred etc. it's simply game fotage.
Also calling Dead Space 1 horror without atmosphere was kinda… funny. It is one of the best Horror Titles both visually and audibly, you can play on pc. Yeah, there are some silly jumpscares in it, but nothing beats the cranking and shaking of the Ishimura in a dark, narrow hallway. It nialed the atmosphere of a derelict space ship full of biomass horrors kinda perfectly.

  8. This is the first game I've pre-ordered since CoD WW2. i promised myself that i wouldn't make the same mistake again. However, i am interested to see how the game ages (with regards to DLC and what not.) I definitely was expecting better from Glen Schofield…
PS Oh well… i did pre-order DS Remake as well lol. But that has seemed to be idiot-proof thus far. (At least i hope 😫😫😫).

  9. It appears that this game was made by a bunch of no talent hacks that thought they were way more skilled than they actually were. Makes me wonder who actually was responsible for Dead Space being good. Often, higher ups will take credit for things other people did (Yoshio Sakamoto is a great example of this – he is completely talentless and got where he is by taking credit for other people's work). It sounds like the people that took credit for Dead Space being good, actually had nothing to do with it, and probably drank beer in an office and had parties while other people did the actual work.

Another review said they basically made the combat Punch-Out. And they aren't wrong about that.

  10. honestly, this game isn't as bad as lot of people say it is. It's pretty bad story wise, as pretty much nothing happens, no plot or character development until the final couple hours of the game, but the gameplay was pretty solid and fun for what it was. The environments were all cool, and the enemy designs and acting were all great. I think this game suffers from "first entry syndrome", hopefully a sequel can iron out the issues it has because this has a lot of potential

  11. One thing that doesn't make sense is Jacob hallucination he been seeing those hallucination since the implant it's stated that the prisoners start hallucination when they first implant but we never see or hear dani hallucination not even once and she been in the prison as the same time as Jacob.

  12. They spent their time creating a unique & satisfying combat system – then creating enemies, encounters & environments that play to every weakness of their gameplay systems.

Let's make a fast paced, melee heavy, evasion based combat system them give your character the mass of a small planet & have him handle so sluggishly that you swear he woke up between some pub bins.

Callisto Protocols refuses to get out of its own way & be fun.

  13. I will always remember "hey look out there is a trap in the vent ahead" and it's a massive saw style trap of blenders that just sweeps from one end to the another, imagine being a construction crew having to build that inside of a prison

  14. Huh didn't expect hate for Silent Hill and actual REsident evil within the first minutes of a Callisto Protocol video but there we go. I mean he's always made his hate for those games known. His opinion I guess, but why hate on something? If youd on't like it then don't play it. Stick to FPS and OTS shooters like you like, God of war 2018, RE7, Uncharted, Tomb Raider reboot trilogy, cal of duty. It's fine.

  15. 6:10 the life are placement is one of the few things that makes sense in this game. The health display isn’t for the individual it’s for the authorities monitoring the prisoners> the back of the head is the least likely spot to be blocked from view in daily activities , put the bar anywhere one the front and it would be blocked by any number of activities like tie shoes or drink water
