I actually live in the city that Theodore is set in, and while the franchise is pretty dead up here it really wasn't for a while. The harbor the series is set in has a boating museum with the original set and models preserved in the main hall, not to mention the life-sized WORKING Theodore ship that's still up and running nowadays, even if he's already left Halifax behind by now. Phillip, Filmore, and Bluenose are also all modeled after real boats, people ride them near daily in fact to this day.
