Would this method work for Zangoose? I found a small lake in Northern Province Area 5 where the Zangoose spawn like hotcakes, but unfortunately, it's pure Normal type, so I also have to contend with other Normal types like Lechonk, Dunsparce, Deerling, and Litleo. Using the shiny Normal sandwich, I have yet to find my Zangoose but unfortunately found a shiny Lechonk instead.
There's also a cliff behind the titan paradox donphan (and the cave it used when it ate the herbs) that has apparently has the most bug spawns. If you go there you can still get tons of larvesta spawns (and rellor if you plan to use a bug encounter boost). Stand somewhere near the edge and do the picnic reset method. But not to close to the walls or the next West Province area, otherwise you'll get pawmi packs and charcadets and possibly other spawns. The sea should be mostly right behind you. Been doing this for a long while at the attempt of getting a marked shiny larvesta and I can confirm that there should be 0 issues if done right, though obviously the only difficult part is having to turn your camera left and right all the time but it becomes a brainless activity as time goes on.
In my first run of pokemon sun i encountered a female selazzle without knowing what i had encountered. I believe i have used all my future shiny luck
