  1. Uzzah died because he didn't obey God commandments the holy things of God were not to be touched if anyone touched the holy things God said they would die, especially the Art. Also the Art of God was not to be carried on a cart. It was to be carried by the Levite priests who only were to carry the art on poles on their shoulders not on a cart pulled by oxen. David failed to follow Gods instruction on this matter. The priest were suppose to carry the art on the poles which were made for that very purpose. its was just outright disobedience on behalf of Uzzah for touching the ark God forwarn them in his word, if they touched holy things they would died. no matter what the reason was. Uzzah failed to obey the word of God that is why he died. The word commanded him not to touch holy things no matter how justified he though it was for him to save the ark from being harmed. The lesson here is no matter how justified we are to do anything contrary to Gods word no matter what their are consequence for our actions. God says it better to obey than to sacrifice. Also if you read in 1 Chronicles 15:11-15 David admits that the priest didn't follow gods instructions they didn't sanctify themselves first before carrying the art which was commanded of them and David admits that God broke out against them because they didn't follow Gods proper order. And David explains the proper order by carring the ark on their shoulders using the golden poles which were made for that very purpose to carry the Ark.
