This Mysterious Civilization Predates the Sumerians & Egyptians – Harappan Civilization

With great symbols representing majesty and power, mythical gods and pharaohs, and great technological inventions that changed the world, we are used to seeing Egypt and Sumer as the oldest and most advanced civilizations in history. However, recent scientific research indicates that a mysterious ancient civilization located between Pakistan and India predates these two incredible cultures. Indeed, researchers believe that this civilization, known as the Harappan civilization or the Indus Valley civilization, is around 8,000 years old, which means that it’s even older than the great Sumerian civilization. Its most famous city, Mohenjo-Daro, is a clear example of a well-established and highly advanced urban center, which includes sewage systems, roads, well-organized houses, agriculture, and artwork, among other things. However, even with all the information that researchers already have about these ancient people, the Harappan civilization also remains one of the most mysterious in history: Its script has not yet been deciphered, its urban planning and irrigation systems were more advanced even than most cities in modern India, and the civilization suddenly disappeared for reasons that are still not entirely clear. How did the Harappan civilization achieve such a degree of cultural and technological development? What was their secret? Did someone help them, or were they the descendants of an even older advanced civilization? And what is the mystery surrounding its sudden disappearance?

  1. Very informative – thank you!

Çatalhöyük in Turkey is older than the Harappan culture, a city dated at 9,500 years old. Meanwhile, Gobekli Tepe (also in Turkey) is 12,000 years old – but is a temple complex not a city. Because of origin-story bias within mainstream archeology, it may be that we uncover far older civilisations as the paradigm slowly shifts and a more open-minded approach filters in.

  2. Stop with the Arian theory… It's just a theory with no evidence but accepted and preached by all.. there are recent evidence from UP India that people existed in Northern India before 7500 years. So you guys don't know anything about India and the Harappan civilization, still many yet not found example Dwaraka city under water in Gujarat India. But Arians came and settled Northern India? Without proof… 🤣No one came to India people went out of India and settled in the west… You can also read this from Indian scriptures, depiction of king ikshvakuu and his 100 son's who inhibited this earth along with recording their lineage upto 20th century. And 3 shiv ling have been found at site of Harappan civilization by archeologist M.S.vats in 1940. They were Hindus (what sanatan dharm followers are now called). Half knowledge of a civilization? did not expect this from you guys… West doesn't want to give credit to sanatan dharm so that their religious propoganda can be implemented in India. This is not political aspect but religious implications of abrahamic religions.

  3. Long before the Harappan civilization an even older civilization, known as the Puranic era, provided the Yadava tribe of Gujrat the first religion (Sanatan religion) and led the Yadava people to prosperity and helped them to create the first human civilization, with the formula adapted by all subsequent thinkers/prophets like Buddha, Jesus and Mohammad as the formula was voluntarily followed by all: DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU EXPECT OTHERS TO DO UNTO YOU, preached by Krishna 11,000 years ago.

  5. Excellent video. Well researched. Truthful and balanced. If I may inform, some researchers are now linking Brahmi with Indus script. I have seen their work. What they say appears correct. Significantly several symbols of the two scripts are same or similar. If established, this may form the Rosetta stone everybody is looking for.

  6. Mohenjo-daro is 4500 years old according to several samples and multiple dating methods. The Harappan Civilisation is said to be at most 5300 years old, maybe you could stretch it a little bit with the sort of build up or precursors, but yea, there you have it. 1m and 20sec into this video and my ears are already bleeding.
There is no need to lie or overdo it, this civilisation is mysterious and we know very little about it so you can sell it and its amazing achievements without embellishing and talking nonsense.

  7. So you find evidence that cancels our old beliefs, and then you say we now found the first civilization? Didn't we say the same before this discovery? Wouldn't it be better to say "the earliest we know of", rather than saying they are the FIRST ONES? It's disappointing to say the least.

  8. That's not true! The oldest is Sumer we have decipher their wrting and they claimed 400,000yrs. So how your claiming that they are the oldest when tgey have not decipher the Mohenjo-Daro scriot until then Sumeria is tge oldest.

  9. it would be very hard for modern minds to factor in the various peoples who still exist in various places. and have little or no memories of their ancients. piecing things together is like putting together a giant jigsaw puzzle without the corner pieces.

  11. It's funny to think that in a thousand years, people will think that New yorkers worshipped the giant bull just because it was made strong. Some things are just decorations 😂

  12. Definitely worth exploring this ancient Indus Valley civilization is. A great deal of characteristics of the "Harappans" is still unknown and will continue to be as it looks right now. But the video wanders too much into unproven things (like predating Eqypt and Sumer) which the other commentators have already noticed, too.

Being the last to claim any expertise here, I remember reading somewhere, many decades ago, that there might be a reference to these people in ancient Sumerian records, with of course completely different name that we use today. If someone knows more about this or can find where Sumerians wrote about the Harappans, let us know—and thank you for that.
