  1. Pacer is the successor to the Wipeout series. It wasn't great though. Hard to surpass wipeout.

Also The Golf Club took the place of the PGA Tour golf series of games for a few years. Not a bad effort.

  2. Perfect examples.

    Castlevania/Bloodstained
    Devil May Cry/Bayonetta
    Golden Eye/Perfect Dark
    System Shock/Bioshock
    Wasteland/Fallout
    Theme Hospital/Two Point Hospital
    Xenosaga/Xenoblade

  3. Dang Yahtz, I know it's supposed to be in good pessimistic fun, but the super chat about that guy's dad passing was rough.

I've lost both of my parents, and especially when it was still fresh, I definitely would feel shitty if I paid my favorite content creator to thank him for helping me through a difficult time just to get shit on by him.

  4. Imo nothing has really surpassed Freespace in terms of space combat games. Even fantastic ones like Everspace 2 completely fail to capture the scale of the fights in those 20+ year old games.
And with the Knossos launcher its playable with updated graphics and a bunch of different campaigns/games.
They even used that engine to make the best Battlestar Galactica game (Disapora : Shattered Armistice).

  5. An idea for an episode, Marty reviews/talks about all 12 games Yahtzee made in one year. Marty can tell Yahtzee what he liked/didn't like. Also, Marty can ask questions about Yahtzee choices and his limitations

  6. Unironically, I think Yahtzee's view of HL1 > Opposing Force > (Maybe Blue Shift, but not necessary) > HL2 > Episodes > Black Mesa is probably the best way to get through the series.
