I really enjoyed this game, although some of the habits that roiland did start to greate on me after a while – especially Lizzie – although I will say that this game definitely refined a lot of his habits gags and trope/ writing habits better.
I do wish this game had a better ending. The characters and improv seems like it would of been perfect for a light hearted end game celebration or something rather than just some photos. The photos should of been a way to clear up some end game questions via newspaper/ news feeds or something. Like what happened to the rest of the cartel members, what about the alien race that was primarily smoking. How was humanity rebuilding and did they join the greater galactic community, that kind of shit.
But knowing Rolland who makes everyone either the most petulant combative asshole you ever met characters or characters with the moral fibre of literal dog shit. I wouldn't be surprised if making a actual happy ending with no hidden beyond dark mood killer was a task too far. Fuck, even in the game half of the stuff the characters say that aren't directly or indirectly aggressive and demaneaing is said through text probably because he couldn't bare to try and do it over voice.
Except the guns. The gun characters were great and generally manage to avoid MOST of those hard tropes in his stuff. They were even positive in many ways. Which surprised me, I was ready for Kenny to start telling me how mother dosen't love him anymore and that he's only with me as a means to an end. But no, pretty much just a likable character.
