The fighting in Ukraine has been gradually slowing down, and is likely to continue doing so over the winter months, US intelligence says.
Fighting had eased following Russia’s withdrawal of troops from the west of the Kherson region last month, US director of intelligence Avril Haines said.
She added both Ukraine and Russian militaries would be looking to prepare for any counter-offensive after the winter.
The war in Ukraine is now in its ninth month, but Russia has lost more than half the land it seized.

– The Ukrainian evacuation of the entire 4 counties, as they already officially belong to Russia, even Crimea, which has been part of Russia since 2014!
– Handing over to Russia a 20 km security zone from the northern course of the Dnieper (north of Kiev) to the Russian-controlled areas of Kharkiv. (From the area of Chernihiv County, Summi County and Kharkiv County.
