Back in the 70's semi-secular Jewish college kids, away from home for the first time, were choice juicy targets. Our area started offering "shabbatons" – weekend gatherings at a local hotel where along with religious activities we got cult awareness training. All the most popular ones, education on how they use mistranslations of the Torah to suck kids in, and basic psych tools on how to just walk away without giving in to social pressure and social engineering.
The most valuable single tool I learned at those weekends was to simply say ",Thank you for your concern" and walk away.

I always kind of regretted not signing up with the Children of God back in the 70s. They had a good many fine looking girls amongst the faithful back then, so the temptation was certainly there. But the nearest I ever got was Anglicanism, which, while far more reputable, doesn't provide anything like the kind of incentives that the CoG offered.
