I feel like people who sign up as mercenaries should definitely be put on a list and watched closely. You know a large portion of them just want to kill people.
Been contracting for amost 15 years now, Contractors exist as the military does not have the personal to support operations and rely s on contractors to fulfill these duties. Contractors also offer continuity as they are really not tied to deployment cycles so a lot of operational knowledge is retained on site vs having to be relearned each time a new unit shows up.
Modern mercenaries are unfortunately our last bastion of uncorrupted choice of protection . Our own government is trying to disarm us while riots are happening over dead criminals . We NEED protection and our cops are quitting at break neck speeds so we need protection somehow . Hired mercenaries will be the future of policing , even in towns and in private / public owned businesses .
It should be made clear that PMCs aren't all combat contractors…. The vast majority of at least the ones hired by the US were logistics and combat support, and combat service support.
And u base this shite talk about Russia vs the Nazi Ukrainians on what exactly, western propaganda lol… military contractors are NOT mercenaries, mercenaries are illegal ,private contractors are legal . Do some real actual research unbiased and first hand do t let the channel further devolve into a leftist propaganda misinformation source.
Saying that "half the defense budget" is spent on contractors in the context of this video is a bit misleading. A large number of contractors work on US and European military installations in roles ranging from mechanics to nurses. For example, when I was based in Germany most of our mechanics were civilian contractors (many of them Germans). A friend of mine just finished a six month contract as a nurse at a US Army hospital. Usually, these contracts (and ones in warzones) are created to fill short-term personnel needs. Long-term positions are generally filled by creating Federal civilian positions. What people miss is that this often results in long-term savings for the military. While contractors are much more expensive upfront, the military does not need to give them as much support. They don't get benefits or retire. The military also has minimal investment in training contractors and can field them quickly. Also, in security operations, the military isn't obligated to report deaths and, to be 100% honest, deaths of contractors are reported with much less intensity and frequency than the deaths of serving military members. Notably, even security contractors commonly employ many TCN's (Third Country Nationals) and their deaths almost never hit the US news (and they man the more dangerous, external positions in static security).
It's also worth noting that not all 'mercenaries' are employed by the Department of Defense. I spent eight years working security contracts and out of those three were spent working for State Department on WPS and the rest were spent working for aid/humanitarian groups. Thus, when you talk about 'mercenaries', the DoD is far from the only agency that employs shooters. At least in my time, some of the better mid-tier contracts were with State Department. Also, DoD employs security contractors that work stateside (such as the armed guards at a lot of DoD facilities) who count as 'DoD security contractors', but who aren't at all the type being covered by this video.
armed contractors the US uses are almost ALL just security guards, I should know since I do contracting. Also the blackwater scandal that got them in deep shit was the Department of State using them as a fall guy for the mistake they made. Thats why contracting is dangerous, because if something goes wrong, the US won't hesitate to use you as the fall guy to save face. and they will even criminally charge you even if you were not even in the same area just because you work for the company they chose to make the patsy. Also all the establishment politicians like Dick cheney, the bushes, Biden, Obama, clintons and many many more have their hands so deep in the private contracting pocket all they want is war war war for that pure sweet laundered cash flow.
Why not the good side of blackwater & how they exposed the corruption & inflated congrats in the pentagon & state department?
Erik Prince’s 3hr talk on Shawn Ryan’s YouTube channel as well as the direct interview Shawn gave to the blackwater operators who were wrongly convicted are all in the public domain.
It’s a bit tiring hear folks rehash these overflogged topics that’ve since been dispelled.
The Landscnechts deserve a mention here- the mercenaries of the renaissance. The iconic woodcuts of them in feathered hats and colourful period clothing with a matchlock petronel on their shoulder and smouldering match in their hand are probably the first romanticism of mercenaries
a military contractor is not a fucking mercenary. a merc works for the highest bidder which means they will work for drug cartels, gangsters and communist if they pay enough. a contractor works for his country and 99% of them are military vets. so tired of u shitheads always trying to cook shit up to give them a bad name like theyre blood thirsty pirates.
My Brother and my Cousin were in the military and they said regular soldiers like them hate mercenaries there not soldiers Just people killing for money. They kill civilians they pretty much have no laws with is BS
I enjoy your channel and I look forward to more. After seeing this particular video I would rather enjoy a video on the individual who infiltrated the PMC market with a resume of nothing but lies and bravado that lead to this particular man becoming a very infamous "soldier". All of his heroics based on lies yet he still became one of the most prolific mercenaries in the 2000s. I believe with your flair you could produce a terrific video on this fraud
Man I remember those African military contractors on FOB Kalsu would be try to stop guys from coming in the DFAC if they didn't have their IDs even though we were clearly in unit and were all in the unit. I used to laugh my ass off when the PSG would be like " Man suck my dick"!! and all of guys would walk straight past those guards and go eat 🤣🤣🤣.
I knew this was going to be a wiki video. But I had no idea how full of shit this is. The Russians were devastated by a well trained and organized ukraine? You are full of shit sir, I don't think you know jack shit about any of this. Just what MSM tells you.
I worked for Black Water USA in 2004-2007 then DynCorp. All of our Missions and funding was from the "US State Department" I give it a 100% probability the US State Dept is funding DynCorp Contractors to fight and train inside Ukraine. And I would bet the Contractor is earning $100k for a 4 month campaign.
As long as it’s the west or their allies doing it, it’s ok. Foreign legion, Rand, Academi, Blackwater, Halliburton etc etc. Only when Asians enter the same arena that western mainstream media starts calling foul. ROFLMAO!!!
I had no idea G4S was that big, I thought these guys were just one of the many local security guards services supplier.

As a former member of the Black ops devision of Avon Inc.Trusr me, after busting up countless underground makeup parties, it never gets easier!

If you believe any of this horseshit, watch Eric Prince’s interview on the Shawn Ryan Show.

"contractors for the military" could be a vague as technicians or admin. It really doesn't have the meaning that you imply in the video.

If I’m not mistaken, blackwater changed it’s name to Academi and has since been absorbed into Constellis.
625,000 employees? Wow.

I would like to introduce you to The French Foreign Legion.
You're wrong on almost all accounts.
Apart from my own experience, see the erik prince interview on the shawn ryan show.
For “not existing” the Wagner group sure has a big sign on a giant building in the middle of Moscow. Lol
