“Our lives had been taken over by cancer.” Shell and Hannah were just a young couple in love, at uni and looking to their future when Shell was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She’s gone into remission and relapsed three times since then, and each time her partner Hannah has been there by her side.
Some people say “In sickness and in health” but these two really mean it. Going through treatment during Covid, going between partners to carer and patient, Shell and Hannah talk openly about their relationship through everything, including their rise to fame on TikTok.
Love Against The Odds is a digital series that celebrates and shines a light on love stories across the UK. These couples have overcome prejudice, trauma, struggles and misunderstanding show that even when the odds are stacked against them, love can conquer all.

Nasty disease, HL. My fireman good friend got it about 15 years ago. He was lucky to come out the other end. Be religious with the treatment, make sure you go to every appointment, no matter how shit you feel, drag yourself there.
