There's a chance Robotnik won't return in the sequel as Jim Carrey is considering retiring from acting
But on the bright side, film creators are hoping the script is good enough for him to return. But who knows? Let's us 🙏
I'm a bit behind because I watched the 1st movie last night, but of all the characters that deserve some screen time, is Knuckles girl: Julie-Su. Rogue is alright, but the comics show how deep Knuckles and Julie-Su really are. Put that Echnida on the big screen too.

As much a Jim Carey needs to come back but if he doesn’t the best option would be to go with Black Doom where he can work with and manipulate Shadow.

I’ll like to see Amy, Blaze & Rogue. also give us another Sonic Racing game and more characters, it’s a great game & enjoyable
They could make a scene where Jim Carey transfers his consciousness into another body, maybe one resembling Eggman from the games a bit better. That is what the comic writers did when they had to update his design to the one that appeared in games, starting with the first Sonic Adventure game. It would be a neat nod to the comics. And in all honesty, I would rather like that. As good as Jim Carey is, I have never seen him as a proper Dr. Robotnik, not even in the second movie.
