Houston Houston Houston. That’s not how tax write offs work. A charitable deduction is a Tax deduction, not a tax credit. If you have $10 million of taxable income and owed $3 million….donating $3 million doesn’t get rid of your tax liability, it “deducts” $3 mil from the $10 mil that’s tax able. So if you donate $3 Mil, now you only owe taxes on the $7 Mil which in this example (30%) would be $2.1 mil still owed.

Houston, that isn't remotely how taxes and charitable contributions work. Tell people to talk to an accountant because this advice you are giving will potentially result in people owing tons in taxes without the ability to pay for it
