The Callisto Protocol – All The Monsters And What We Know About Them

Combat isn’t just designed to provoke feelings of desperation though; there’ll be a mix of frantic, brutal action with skill-based strategic gameplay. In an August 2022 PlayStation blog, the developer outlined the principal tactic to taking down the Biophage – complete with images of a more standard, as unapt as a word as it is, monster. Mostly still human in appearance, save for grey tentacles writhing from its chest.

The strategy, as proposed by the developer, is to utilise a small window of opportunity to eliminate the tentacles with a few well-placed gunshots. Shooting the tentacles eliminates the virus. Fail, and the mutant will grow stronger, changing into something more powerful and deadly. With the glimpses we’ve seen of Big Mouth thus far, the prospect of a stronger, fiercer, more deadly variant of this gaping-mouthed brute is enough to send shivers down the spine.

Here’s hoping there’s light at the end of Jacob’s journey through Black Iron Prison, as an eternity stuck with its hellish miasma looks like one of the most unsettling and gruesome places ever conceived in video games.

  2. 0:59 Believe it or not the devs also did this for when they worked on the dead space series, they researched human autopsies after horrific accidents such as car crashes and industrial accidents in order to get a good idea where a body part could realistically go to in order to make it believable. they did not take this idea from naughty dog but rather are revisiting an old tradition from a decade ago

Edit: didn’t really clarify that Callisto devs consist of former dead space devs

  3. One of the main things I'm super hyped for is the fact that this game will carry a photo mode. With how awesome and realistic the enemies are, it is gonna make for some sick ass shots. I'm so ready for this game! Friday can't get here soon enough.
