Thank-you for this i was trying this for awhile b4 i watch your video and turns out i was setting my picnic up to far away from the outbreak but after i set it in the middle of outbreak, walk out a little bit as the new ones spawn in my shiny showed up the for the 1st time after i did it 🙂 thanks a million!
I literally just did this exact method on the same outbreak. Took me 30ish minutes and I got my shiny magnemite.

Couldnt you also do this with a sandwich? I feel it would make it easier. The only downside I guess would be that you would have to beat the game.
