Relations between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the rest of the Royal Family might not have thawed much to outsiders but in her final months, the Queen felt that both sides were converging. That’s the view of Daily Mail columnist and the Queen’s biographer Robert Hardman, who was speaking to a special episode of our royal talk show Palace Confidential.

Marriage is hard. Anyone who has tried to sustain a long term relationship knows this. It requires honesty, integrity, to build trust and sustain love.
The marriage/relationship is the BEDROCK of the family.
So imagine Charles lied to Diana and cheated on her. She never had a chance.
And his son, Harry, as the spare, has more scope to express his views.
Charles owes his sons a lot because he robbed them of a happy and secure childhood built on an honest relationship between the parents.
He should not be shocked that his son Harry is still working through his issues.
Ugh what a terrible person! Nothing about Harry’s astonishing interview after his short meeting with the Queen, and Harry tells the reporter that he’s worried about her closest people?? The incompetent reporter left THAT out?
How does HE know that Harry and his wife were “here with the children”?
He insists that the Queen was more worried about Andrew’s old age than about Harry getting an award for trashing his family.
So this disgusting “expert” has described a monarch more deeply concerned about a playboy in the family than about the future of the Monarchy, as it’s being attacked by a traitor and his castrating horrifying reckless wife?
He just called the late Queen a failure!!

Charles could not or would not cope with Diana’s issues so I would guess he does not have the fortitude to deal with his son’s issues. Royals seem so dysfunctional when it comes to personal relationships within their family, especially if you can’t cope with the extraordinary protocol requirements which are so outdated and unrealistic for our time. I think Harry saw that with his mother and realizes it will be the same for him.
Full disclosure: I am neither from the UK nor the Commonwealth of Nations and I am certainly not disrespecting the royal family/firm. Having said that, why are so many excuses made for the other spares? Goodness, with all the privilege and support the non-heirs receive and STILL they can't make something of themselves; knowing since a very young age that they have a shelf life? To allow spares (with the exception of Princess Anne, of course) to be and remain rudderless throughout life — how much of that is just allowing a monster to be created? Again, no disrespect is meant, but let's state things as they are: when you do not take a firm and guiding hand to a spoiled child what you get is a petulant, ungrateful, malcontent. And when such a child has Henry's temperament to boot, well, you have the RF situation as it is now. To be perfectly frank, it would be a much needed breath of fresh air if someone of these pundits would just say it like it is and speak plainly about Henry. The constant "beating about the bush" is extremely weak.

The Markles have stirred a hatred pot on purpose. Allowing a lowlife to marry into the royal family was the Queens biggest mistake. Colour of a person's skin was used by Meghan as an excuse to bring harm to everyone and shows her great lack of decency and that in fact it's her who is the racist. She is who she is ,a yacht girl with a divorce already under her belt with plenty of notches on it. I purposely never follow any news on them since the funeral. Dusted and done.
