  1. I have lived in the DMV area (DC, MD, VA) all my life. I remember this terrifying time. Folks in the DMV were paranoid with fear. I recall at one point when the authorities were stating that shooter may be driving a white van. Folks were suspicious of any white van they saw. I recall while walking my dog in my neighborhood, I spotted a white van up the street from my home. I hurried back to my home with my dog, kept peeping out my window using my binoculars to check out the empty white van and try to get a plate number. Finally I realized that it belonged to a contractor who was doing home improvement work at a neighbor's house. SMH. Yep we in the DMV were on high alert, fearful about coming outdoors yet still having to go about our daily lives, praying that law enforcement would catch the serial killer ASAP. When they caught them the relief in our area was palpable. Two evil men were finally brought to justice.

  2. I was teaching in the area at the time, and we were on high alert. No recess – security between buildings. The highways were randomly shut down. It was a relief when they were caught.

  3. This poor woman. She is not at fault for anything, but feels so much pain. I hadn't heard her story before, but I know what a stalker feels like, so I have a small inkling of her fear.

  4. I really just don't understand how you go from playing laughing and smiling with your daughter one day to a serial killer sniping people from the trunk of a car the next. Really goes to show you never really know somebody until you know somebody.

  6. Ladies, if you KNOW that your husband is going to kill you, hide tour vehicle and get a ride to a women's shelter. From there, hav them find a shelter in another city to move you to. Find a way to get there. Do this again, but this time, get moved to another state. Stay in the shelter until you get to know that town and are comfortable with it.
This way, you are safe while getting used to your new town.
When you leave the brute, take your tax records with you.
Follow the guidance of the shelter. You can get through the situation if you have the support. That is what having a community of other women who have been through abuse can do for you. The group makes each individual stronger.

  7. This was such a very scary time when it was happening, and all of the people who fell victim to these two was felt around the nation. I always wondered how his ex-wife and children were dealing with this. It is not the wife's fault because she was a victim too. She was just trying to protect her children and herself. I am sure that those who made that comment of her staying put on the west coast, that the people who have died would not have died were hurting from their loss of loved ones and it is understandable, but they probably would have done the same if they were in her shoes. It is a tragedy that no one will ever forget especially all who it directly affected.

  8. What’s hilarious, and I am in no way criticizing Sis. Muhammad bc I think she’s amazing. But this documentary does NOT dig into the fact that JOHN MUHAMMAD HAD PTSD THEN FINALLY HAD A MENTAL BREAKDOWN BECAUSE BE LOST HIS FAMILY AND CHILDREN.
That blow was the catalyst for all the mayhem later.
LETS TELL THE TRUTH instead of just painting this man as a cold monster.
