  1. Says the songwriting and choruses on FMG could be a lot better.. meanwhile there's literally not a chorus. Also had literally JUST said the verses were "decent", which I know doesn't imply great but still sounds like better than "could be a lot better". Not a great start to reviewing an album 🤣 Mind you, I agree entirely. TM was a horrible album. I may have given The Family a 5, MAYBE a 6, but overall I was also intensely disappointed.

  2. genuinely shocked by how wholly i disagree with the take on the family here, especially saying all that's interpolation of the sample was poor and the singing on gold teeth was awful. i almost feel like we had to have listened to different projects, so honestly raw from start to finish and a heartbreaking sendoff for the group that was so poignant i almost lament the release of TM

  3. For me, Kevin’s personality has really gotten in the way of me riding with Brockhampton. I think I don’t like The Family that much because I’m not that invested in Kevin’s story and I’ve always been put off by his vibe of blaming problems on everyone else, while no one else is on the album to shed light on their perspective. It feels like to him, it’s only his story that matters and the other members stories can just get erased. He’s also pretty mid as far as rappers go. I know he has some great creative abilities but I didn’t feel that coming through on this album, and at this point Brockhampton not doing any of the things that made them so likeable early on

  4. Is anyone else absolutely shocked that this review is so much worse than Iridescence? The Family is one of the frankest albums I've ever heard. I never even listened to Roadrunner twice but I'm going to listen to The Family a good few times. The songs are short because they're meant to be listened to together rather than one by one and I don't see a problem with that.

  5. Anthony, you can say it… You're sad that Brockhampton is breaking up, it's okay. Your emotions are valid, but are clouding your judgement. You love these albums truly, in your heart of hearts.

  6. Not a fan of either album, but I don't think the ameer thing was really a player in the breakup. They all have different styles they wanna push. think this will help them be much happier with the solo/other work they decide to drop, if any.

  7. I'll be honest I couldn't even get through TM, it was so boring. Don't get me wrong there's some solid tracks and I feel like with more time they could have been great. I love the southern roots vibe of the two albums but the family? That opening track hit so hard and it was great but that album felt more like an apology and context letter from Kevin and I really missed the presence of the other members on that album.

  8. What I got from the family is similar to a meme that was going around about the actor Robert Pattison years ago that said "Don't worry if you hate "Twilight" you don't hate it as much as Robert Pattinson does" and really that's the vibe I got. Kevin hates Brockhampton and Brockhampton's fans.

  9. The only way to listen to The Family is straight through. It’s stronger as a whole but the tracks are often weak by themselves. I really enjoyed The Family but TM was a major flop imo.

  10. When you cut briefly to that edit, where it appears you’re in the sky with clouds, that was really the climactic moment for me on the video. You should do stuff like that way more dude. And with all due respect to any and all parties involved here, I seriously had a bi-moment when you did that
