She was divorcing Rick Ocasek so he felt that she abandoned him, and that’s why he wrote that on his Will.
He is not gonna leave all his money to Paulina and her new boyfriend when she was abandoning him, abandoning the marriage by divorcing him.
Any of us would felt the same as Rick.
Let the new boyfriend take care of paulina, she was dating a guy while living in the same house with Rick. There are photos of her kissing her boyfriend while she was still living with Rick, that must be torture for Rick Ocasek.

Wasn’t Rick married when they met? Wasn’t he old enough to be her Dad? According to some of his kids (from previous marriages), he was a nonexistent father? Is she really such a victim? Just saying.

I hope to read the book. Ric didn’t sound like a nice person to say the least. Ben Orr, the bass player for the Cars was left with bad feelings also when the group broke up . Too bad he is not around. He could probably help her.
From what I read, Ric Ocasek also left out 2 or 3 of his sons from a former marriage out of his will. Apparently they have animosity towards him as they say he wasn't a great father.

Ric’s divorce wasn’t finalized when he passed, so she’s still entitled to 33% of his estate. She’ll be fine monetarily.
