Wizards and Warriors starts a new animated alternative history documentary series focusing on the Mongol Invasion of Europe and asking What if the Mongols invaded Europe. In our scenario, Ogedei Khan doesnât die in 1241, which allows the Mongols to retain their unity and continue their incursions into Europe and Middle East. In 1245, the Mongols under the leadership of Batu Khan invade central Europe leading to the intense battles in medieval Bohemia. At the battle of Olomouc in 1246, the allied armies of the Holy Roman Empire attempted to stop the Mongol invasion (https://youtu.be/bfF5P0qzQQM). The defeat here didnât stop the Mongols who were now full of wrath. And although the Europeans were now preparing a Crusade, this wrath will bring them to Bohemia and the siege of Prague will make things even worse. We at Kings and Generals hope that you will enjoy this video!

Just a minor detail about the boat with corpses the Vltava river flows in the opposite direction.
I mean I had faith K&G could kill it with this theme but my god what an amazing jobđ keep it up I love your work
Is that the music from Total War Attila? đ
I have been checking this channel every day for 2 months waiting for part 2 of this series to come out I hope part 3 doesnât take as long but with this quality take as long as you want!!
I feel like Daniel and most of the men defending wouldâve known the Mongols where lying about sparing their lives if they surrender considering it shouldâve been well known that after you kill an emissary they would completely destroy you. If you donât mind what was the thought process behind having him and a few thousand men leave the castle/battlements when they were maybe not clearly winning but they werenât losing by any means yet?
Alternative history!!!
I love this video, please do more alternative history scenarios in the future
Frederick II was already preparing to resist the Mongols. He did the sixth crusade without papal support. No way would he put himself among the crusader and the mongols. Louis was also a Staufer supporter.
"what are you doing step warrior?"
guy who got put in the barrel after just walking out to the mongols was the stupidest nigga in this whole arc
Make a video about muslim enslaving of white europeans. And how none of the white christian slaves survived like the african slaves in america
Mongol L incoming
I am so hyped for the next episode. If the united European armies are defeated, there's nothing keeping the Mongols from the Low Countries, France, and Italy. I can't even begin to think what the world would like today without Belgian/Dutch trading ports, the University of Paris, or the Roman papacy?
Bring on the Movie!
A few alternative history "What Ifs" I'd love to see Wizards and Warriors make in the future:
1. What if Moltke restrained himself at Morhange and also did not send two corps east to Prussia? Could Germany have won World War 1 in 1914?
2. What if Nazi Germany invaded the Middle East instead of Russia in 1941? Could Hitler have won World War 2?
3. What if Special Order 191 was committed by Confederate officers to memory and was never lost? Could Robert E. Lee win the American Civil War?
4. What if Chiang Kai-shek had not contested Communist rule in Manchuria? Could China have partitioned into a Republic of China in Nanjing ("Free China") and a Chinese Democratic People's Republic in Changchun ("Red China")?
Maybe the next video will cover this, but my biggest issue with this alt history series is the complete lack of explaining how the greater concentration of Mongol forces in Central Europe would affect their other theaters. Surely this would open avenues for non-European states to start fighting back sooner.
Could we have a warhammer 30k or 40k video? Perhaps the dropsite massacre ?
So Bohemia knows there coming and they know they are going to be invaded through the passes based on all the raids they have been doing there. So why didn't they remove all the food between their and Prague before the invasion? The ploy of them using the boats to smuggle people in was extremely obvious from the beginning I am surprised the defenders fell for it. Also nobody heard the massive army mobilizing for an attack on the walls at the same time. And why did they believe they would be spared by the Mongols of all people they have already seen what they do makes no sense.
I am waiting for the 7th crusade! It will be an interesting episode!
Perhaps also look at the rest of the empire
Man, I am so using this as inspiration in my fantasy series.
Capture Chinese engineerđ
Mongols liked attacking people who were easily divided and conquer able. When they ran into Hungarians they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat at the Battle of Mohi. Mongols didnât like people who would fight to the last man, very unconquerable with a will of steel. Even if they did manage to conquer the Hungarians (because with Castles everywhere I doubt it) they would still face VERY stiff Hungarian resistance.
Le Roy Louis a convoqué, tous ses barons et chevaliers..
Perhaps my biggest quibble with this series so far–regarding the European rulers–is how Frederick II is panning out. David Abulafia wrote extensively deconstruction Frederick's image as a prince somehow outside his time, rather he was very much a product of it. It is very difficult to imagine that Frederick II would not have been a major figure of any such crusade even with Innocent IV's hostility, much less that he would have been deposed before his final excommunication and the subsequent battle of Parma in 1248. It is only in these years that his imperial sway began to wither, witnessed by Henry Raspe's candidacy as anti-King of the Romans. He was on good terms with Louis IX who often supported Frederick over the Papacy. Also, Frederick was in a rather commanding position in Italy in the early 1240s. His imperial reach only waned in the later half of the decade. I think Frederick is being too easily discounted to fit the narrative, a bit shoe-horned even.
This is a cool series
Good intro. Good fucking intro.
