That’s right we Fantano now. On a real whilst most of this channel’s focus has been on movies so far, and don’t worry, it will continue to be, I’m actually working on a huge project involving 100 movies at the moment. That being said, I would like to expand the channel slightly to involve other forms of media, primarily music, but maybe a swath of literature here and there, just because it’s a lot easier for me to make videos about stuff I’m really passionate about, and I don’t think I care about many things as much as I do music for example.
This is my first video on such a topic however so any feedback would be very much appreciated 🙂
(also sorry that there’s no HD. I tried. I really tried. It just didn’t work for whatever reason so that’s really annoying)
INTRO –
Quadeca just released album of the year. That’s right, the guy who was making KSI diss tracks 4 years ago, the guy who made Wii Music Fire, That guy in my opinion, has just released the best bunch of songs this year. Just to reiterate, Quadeca has outdone Kendrick Lamar, Drake, 21 Savage, Kid Cudi, Flo Milli, and every other rapper that’s dropped in 2022 you get the idea. And obviously Joji but that one kinda goes without saying I mean I don’t know what to tell you Smithereens was pretty wack.
Now I actually enjoyed From Me to You, Quadeca’s last project quite a bit, much to the detriment and surprise of my close friends who still see Quad as a lyrical myrical youtube rapper, a presupposition I don’t think anybody in their right minds would insist upon now. From Me to You had some great moments, some good rap, and a lot of atmosphere. A lot of the verses were pretty cold, and the concept was fairly novel and interesting. Unfortunately however none of the tracks quite lived up to the grandiose and triumphant nature of Sisyphus, and despite some great tracks like People Please and Burning Bridges, the album was rather inconsistent and corny at points, webbed by the trappings of relative internet fame, as well as some tracks like Where’d you go just being bad. I think what this album did most prominently however, was display that Quadeca is an incredibly impressive self-producer, which is something that is not only easier to see in his latest album, but also something that has improved tenfold. I’m talking Tyler the Creator levels of self-production here at many points.
On top of the production, suffice it to say the man’s singing has also improved drastically on this project, which adds so much power and quality in songs like Fantasyworld, which is a contender quite frankly for one of the best indie/folk tracks in years.
I am so shocked by how much better this is than everything Quadeca had worked on previously, and it’s a shock that was only strengthened by the admittedly somewhat slow start to I didn’t mean to Haunt you. Whilst I don’t think there is a single bad or underwhelming track on this thing, I do believe that the first four songs or so are significantly weaker than the second half.
Let’s have a quick look at this hunk of art track by track, and discuss both the quality of the music, as well as the myopic and introspective, downright intelligent concept the album insists on.

calling this the album of the year is like calling taco bell authentic mexican food
picking up hands is my favorite bruh
I will now listen to this album
Imo denzel still has aoty for me
It just sounds like mid air theif
theres no way u actually believe this album tops redveils or kendricks
you gon need to make another vid after chrisnxtdorian drops his album
It ain’t album of the year nah
It's so interesting to hear other opinions on what most are agreeing to be a 10/10. Picking up hands is actually my favorite song on the record. Although the record comes together so well as one, It seems like different songs are appealing to people with different music tastes. I love picking up hands because of its ridiculous instrumentation. It reminds me heavily of injury reserves by the time i get to phoenix but with a more cohesive nature and I fucking love it.
thank you, i dont know if i would have connected with this track as much if i didnt know the meaning behind it
IN MY OWN OPINION, album of the year is a bit of a reach. I loved the production on this album it truly was refreshing. However, in terms of lyrics and his singing/ rapping it is not yet at a high level. Many times it felt awkward or off tune. I felt he had to use a ton of voice effects to compensate. He still has the habit of using that corny rap cadence. I could listen to the beats alone without words and float but with his vocals it sadly sabotages the product. I can appreciate what he was trying to do but I still rate the album 6/10 after giving it a full listen.
It's very good but you haven't listen to ICYMI @EDEN the true masterpiece of this year 🙂
i can genuinely with my whole heart say that this is the best album i have EVER listened to. the album constantly gives me goosebumps no matter how many times i listen to it. aoty.
yeah better than kendrick, drake and 21 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 who all just dropped way better albums that will go platinum 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This album was just very underwhelming, production was good/great but doesn’t compare to FMTY. Quads message/theme of him dying from suicide is damn near beautiful. The lyrics are no exception either. Lyrics were HARD.
BUT What’s the point of lyrics if I can’t even hear them. I know his vocal performance and delivery are supposed to contribute to the album considering he’s haunting/dead but Half the time I wasn’t able to even understand him.
With that aside the instrumental should make up for it but like I said previously it just doesn’t hit as hard as FMTY, only exceptions being sorry4dying, tell me a joke, picking up hands, born yesterday, others almost come close, but most are excessive.
Another disappointing thing about this album is the features, Danny Brown had nice lyrics but again what’s the point if I can’t even understand or hear them, even with the lyrics pulled up, I still couldn’t understand him!! Like what!?!?
And I don’t hate this album, because it has personal favorites like born yesterday, and tell me a joke. Which nearly made me tear up.
Ik quad evolution is extraordinary, that’s for sure. But AOTY??
Dax, crypt, token, etc, come out with amazing albums but this one gets aoty??
And to make the record straight I am not upset at this album not being a rap album, I loved ,please don’t wake me up, Sisyphus, alone together, live like this, people pleaser, it all a game, verglas. this was very underwhelming, but that’s just my opinion, let me know yours!
"Album of the Year" My guy hasn't listened to Denzel, JID, Pusha T, Smino, Nas, Joey Bada$$, Kendrick, Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher nor Freddie Gibbs 💀
Playboi Carti fans explaining why his songs are good 8:29
You lost all credibility you didnt even have
This is his magnum opus. Hopefully this will take him to new corners of experimental music. Such a masterpiece.
aoty??? 😂😂
Underrated channel!!
Bro said kid cudi and not learn 2 swim
its not that difficult to outdo drake tbh
Quadeca has made insane improvements and the project is actually good. Album of the year though ? Over Kendrick ? That’s a gross exaggeration 😂😂
Why should I listen to a British person talking about rap? It's like hearing an American person talk about how to make scones and other British cuisines. It's not credible, like at all.
Have you heard The forever story by J.I.D?
Nah still trash
gotta thank you for this video, never really been a quadeca fan, knew him only for his ksi dis, but now i've been having his album on repeat the past day
Smithereens was good 😡
ever heard of yeat?
JID is album of the year.
10/10
Smithereens was great but I’m excited to scope this out, thanks
Hey man, I really enjoyed the video, and it helped me understand the album, however quadecas “corny” rapping style is something I actually really like listening to, so I was wondering what type of music you generally prefer listening to? Do you listen to any ski mask, or Jid, or anything like that? Thanks, I really did enjoy the video friend
I’m pretty sure house settling is about the killing of his mother not himself.
bruh the summary of the album was PERFECT omg this video was great!!!!
He didn't
the diss to joji was unneeded man come on :/
No way his albums better mr morale and the big steppers
You must not have listened to Polyphia's "Remember That You Will Die"
