As always Simon Whistler is the king of making everything beyond interesting 🧐
Any hoo, I was wondering if your magnificent bundle of neurons would highlight the life and times of King Ludd.
If so let me know in the comments.
Sincerely Walter
When mankind calls any other animal a monster, it is 100% only projection on our part.

Poor kitty =(
Ghost sounds like he was the size of a liger or American lion. Crazy to think that behemoth could jump a fence.
Yeah… as a biologist, this story seems vastly embellished.
If as many people died as Patterson claimed, it's more likely that a lot of them were blamed on the lions when in reality it was sickness and mismanagement. Though mismanagement was likely at play either way as he claims these lions were far more stealthy than regular lions while paradoxically being very loud and warning of coming attacks. By his own estimations it took many deaths before they took rudimentary defensive measures.
Tanzania is pronounced Tan-ZAH-nee-ah.
They're animals, not monsters. They aren't cruel, just hungry. Cruelty requires the capacity for empathy.
OMG 😲 ALL OF THOSE SHOTS & HE STILL DIDN'T GO DOWN!!!
IMAGINE IT'S ONLY U & U UNLOAD ON THE MASSIVE LION THINKING,,,"WHEEWW I MADE IT, THANK GOD I HAD A FULL CLIP". ONLY TO TURN AROUND TO GET KILLED B4 THE BEAST DIED FROM WOUNDS.
DAMN THAT'S DEEP 🤦🏽♀️😬
The true story is even more terrifying then the film.
Imagine a 9 foot lion holy shit!
Why are lions called "King of the Jungle" when they do not live in the jungle?
"The lion is called the king of the jungle for a reason…"
There's not really a reason they're called that. They don't live in the jungle.
Us on the Wasteland, sometimes enjoy delicious Spiced Long Pork…
If you ever get the chance to visit Man-Eaters Bridge as it's now known, it's worth a visit if you're into this sort of thing. It's right alongside the main Nairobi-Mombasa road between Tsavo and Voi. Fort Jesus in Mombasa is well worth a visit too, and a lot of work has been done recently. You can even book a guided tour around it.
coolie is the "N-word" in south Africa for Indians (however most of us don't care nor find it offensive because we're not PC obsessed dumb Americans )
And I don’t feel sorry for the people who were devoured by lions, but I feel sorry for the lions
The incompetence of the People with Killing these two lions let's me totally wonder how we got so good at killing us and animals.
lol the warographics stuff at the end…
KRONK! WRONG LEVER!!!! 😀
Fantastic film
Only an Empire would have the Hubris to build a railway like that.
Dude, have you got a cold?
Ngl, was hoping Ghost and Darkness won.
Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas 1997.
A reminder that the lion is the king of the jungle.
Hail to the king.
Hello Simon
The fact you call the Lions “the cruel beasts” and not the people who pushed them to extinction is poor taste.
Simon whistler… The busiest creator on the internet to date. But what does that mean really… Is this just a captivating person finding and reporting back to us with gravitas practically radiating out of the device your watching on… Or is it much more likely Simon is some sort of entity creating these things with thought alone or perhaps bringing them to fruition by exposing the masses to his powerful and well spoken words… Could Simon be about to create a singularity where by reporting on a topic so riveting they themselves are trapped listening to their own video over and over again, and if the internet where to get ahold of it would we all then be dragged in… should we have sanction’s on Simon, should someone be test listening to these before videos before… oh god. What if he sees this and reports I was never born…
I appreciate how Simon tries to differentiate his channels by costume and character, not just content. The get up at the end is pretty classic.
Tanzaynia? Ffs Simon.
I always cheer for the animals in these situations.
Yes they are called king of the jungle because they live in jungles…..oh wait no they don't the live on the savannah
I cant believe no one else has pointed this out – Lions live in grasslands and plains and not the jungle….
This movie is amazing. Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas killed it.
I am somewhat familiar with this story, and there is one crucial fact that always seems overlooked. During the construction of this railroad, it was too costly to ship food into the region (using 1898 technology). Instead, hunters were employed, and local game was used to feed the hundreds of workers. This had the effect of depleting the lions' food supply. The lions attacked the humans both out of hunger, and a need to defend their hunting territory. Note how, when goats were left as bait, that the lions took the goats, and left the people alone. Lions, as big as they are, are still cats, and behave like cats.
A 1917 .303 British Enfield was my very first gun. Still have it. And the fact that the lion was shot that many times and was still alive is amazing. They are BIG rounds.
It absolutely wrecks my mind that "monster hunter" was a literal profession barely more than a century ago.
Was arming everyone never an option?
This is pathetic! Lol
Is not there not more to the story? Sounds like incredible incompetence.
Lions can keep moving after being shot through the heart?!
2 male lions? Ok that is really odd as a pride usually consists of multiple females and maybe a couple males I believe but I don’t think the males get all that chummy due to competition for mating with the females. And it’s usually the females that hunt. I would think it would be very strange for a pair of males to travel together and hunt with no females and if they had females, the females would be the ones out hunting. Now I have to go research that as it’s just so odd. I’ve heard of prides stalking villages before but never just 2 males working together alone like that.
