BSG's Crackdown on Info and Items – Escape From Tarkov News

Recently BSG implemented some changes to the game that has further restricted playersโ€™ access in a few different ways, one of which was a major reduction in what we can see when it comes to the inner-workings of the game.

  1. Edit to add: It occurred to me that people may not understand the reference. The guy who copystruck Pestily's xmas song had his drops taken away during the first few hours of the drops week on day 1. He was the only streamer streaming tarkov (on twitch) that did not have drops that day. I expect it will be the same thing on Saturday.

Good/bad? dunno. But everyone is on even footing (well, almost) now as far as info goes. Personally, I'm cool with the mag thing. A little too much "protection" for the guys trying to min max on death. Makes people play a little more careful, but that's just me and my opinion, and of course people will think differently.

  2. when will BSG have a crackdown on CHEATERS… i know with their servers on fire, they dont care about that… but its really bad. but their usual fix of banning cheaters then putting the game on sale right after (so they can jus by another account) isnt gonna be enough. there is a lot to be excited about this wipe but the cheating, bugs and dog shit servers are gonna make me quit for the second wipe in a row now

  3. As much as many tarkov veterans seem to not like that bsg takes away info like spawns for rare items and stuff, imagine what it does for the game tho that can be good! Weโ€™re talking about potentially the community being more active with each other within discords, even in voip asking others if theyโ€™ve found where certain items spawn and stuff like that. If you mean rare items donโ€™t spawn where were used to them spawning anymore, it makes pvp more spread out cuz people may not attract to these hotbed areas anymore, it can also make it a bit easier for players not to keen to get into fights to find these rarer items instead of having to force themselves to go into previously highly contested areas where everyone is trying to get these same items.

  4. I personally really don't like how they hide every little piece of information. In the end of the day it is still a video game and especially in a game like this knowledge is power. There arn't even any in game resources available to help people who don't go out there and consume literally every little slice of info they can get. Imo the workbench or maybe the intel center should have info like that available to you. It would be super cool if at a low level workbench you could look up and see the pen, damage, and other stats of lower tier ammo and maybe in the intel center look up item spawn locations (like being able to see that gas analyzers spawn in toolboxes, file cabinets, ect). I have been playing with a lot of new players lately and every time they pick up any bullet they don't recognize they say "oh this looks cool. It must be good ammo right?" and I just have no say "Noo noo its trash dude" It's just a little ridiculous that my combat hardened PMC has no clue what bullets are meant for amour pen and which arn't.

  5. Damn it took them so long to start blacklisting some items from safe / fictional / bullshit containers that have no place in the game to begin with.
Was waiting on this since 2017. ๐Ÿ˜

  6. I like it! Hopefully it will help with dynamic loot spawns like someone said earlier.
Everything being out in the internet from day one has made many MMOs less immersive/mysterious. And when you ask help from chat often you get "check Google", so much for that MMO feeling.
Maybe this gives opportunities to ask information with voip in raid ๐Ÿ˜€
On the other hand most Tarkov tasks are so vague that without wiki we would have no idea where to go.

  7. So again BSG goes into the point where cheaters and radar users can just make bilions and normal person will have less and less money. Sounds bad

  8. I'll be honest, the info on item rarity or spawns being in the game files seems irrelevant to begin with outside of offline mode and that can have an unrelated loot pool such as just meds and ammo for solo practice runs where you can top off your mags in-raid

  9. Seems like a major hit to the new playerbase and new players to come. Doesn't really affect players with thousands of hours but I know without that info starting out it would have been a real struggle

  10. Yes, yes, All very important if i cant play the game because of backend errors and beeing put into a queue again. Exactly where i would put my focus. Iam so done…

  11. Their game is quite literally on fire. Their servers are dogshit. There's Russian Orthodox Christmas this week

And they make a change like this?

Clearly they've got their priorities right!

  12. I actually quite like these changes. Removing mags and grenades from safe containers make sense. Now the chadiest of chads can't just swap mags all the time, preserving both good mags and good ammo if they happen to die, same with the grenades.

The data removal I don't care that much about, but by doing it I think BSG will have more freedom to move stuff around as they like, focusing more on more dynamic loot stuff etc, making events and such ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, I love that BSG went after Rook a little bit, even if it's "just" by blocking him from the drop event ๐Ÿ˜€

  13. Personally I think this change is awesome, yes you might not know where items spawn but it's not like a PMC living in tarkov would know the exact locations of items, I think it would be interesting if they changed or added spawn locations now because then you would need to check everywhere, imo it seems like it would add to the immersion but only time will tell

  14. 3:50 I'd rather know where he possibly spawns than run around all game looking for him and probably losing millions of roubles. Fuck off. The item found in raid was enough, now stop it, let the people who don't have their entire lives to play Tarkov..It's becoming a more a more of a game for those who have nothing else to do other than play this game. 4:12 This is what I mean, like normal people don't have the time you have my guy.

  15. Tarkov is shaping out to beana amazing game. I can't think of any other game where the flea changes ect wouldn't instill a riot in the community then th devs giving in.
